This guy is the real BOSS
That explains why all my complaints get rerouted to a call centre in Calcutta

Could Analytics be the reason why we went with Gabbert and company instead of drafting a new QB?

Not sure why this guy is suddenly being put on the spot. He's the guy that makes the deals happen based on what Baalke gives him. He's the capologist and money guy, with analytics, not necessarily the decision maker. Baalke gets all that credit and shouldn't share any of the blame with Anyone else. Last year I recall Marathe had a title change to move him more away from personnel decisions.

Baalke's people may be trying to shift and share the blame, but he should not be let off the hook. When a new GM is chosen, he should have the final call in the management composition, including what happens to Marathe.

He is the Executive Vice President of Football Operations and Football Operations is a cluster****. He and Baalke are THE decision makers in Football Operations.
Besides having the top title in Football Operations, he has been in on all of the coaching hirings since Erickson, he has been in the coaching booth and he has written all of the Field Management guides that all coaches since Nolan have been required to carry.
Look at what his analytics have done to the 49ers roster.

1st, this article is from last year.

2nd, that's about that.

I know we love, myself as well, taking shots at Marathe, but Baalke is the main person at fault for our roster and lack of FA signings in the past 2 years.

Wile he has been in charge of the cap, his role with analytics has gone far beyond that. He has at various time put together the analytical method for player value during the draft and trading of draft choices (this is what first brought him on board with the 49ers), developing an analytical method for selecting and hiring a coach (especially during the coaching search that resulted in Nolan being hired), developed a manual for coaches to use for play selection during the game, Been seated in the press box and participated in decisions to challenge plays. He was also the FO front man leading the entire stadium project.

If you follow the 49ers since the Bill Walsh era, Paraag has been involved in far more then just the salary cap and contracts.

The articles did not show up.
Trent is all but gone. Now, the fan base needs to adjust its crosshairs to this parasite. The least talked about yet biggest cancer meddling behind the scenes.

HE MUST GO.

Exposing Paraag Marathe.....the man you really want fired.

49er fans, I know most of you want to see York sell the team and think he's ill equipped to run the franchise- and you may be right - and I know you want to see Baalke fired b/c he is the GM who acquired no one this last off-season that has helped move the needle, and hired Tomsula, whom you also want gone. But if you go back a few years and look at who within the organization has gained the most power and pulled the most strings it's none of the above.

The man you REALLY want gone from the organization is Paraag Marathe. He is the man who has risen the most from within and while I credit his work on the salary cap and contracts he has superseded both Baalke and York for most influential. Whatever he says is gold to York, and Baalke is just doing what his owner wants which is really what Marathe wants.

Marathe has grown so powerful he now practically has seat in the coaches box and helps call plays - yeah, bet you didn't know that - he is using his analytics to dictate what the coaching staff calls. Hence, why Tomsula keeps punting and the organization has yet to speak out about it and why Tomsula keeps saying he would "do it again."

Safe to say Harbaugh's biggest issue within the organization was Marathe's meddling with coaches and calls which led to York deciding, not between Baalke and Harbaugh, but Marathe and Harbaugh - that's why there were so many conflicting reports about the Baalke/Harbaugh relationship towards the end of the season. I believe Marathe/York were pissed with the calls made by Harbaugh that cost us the SB and last Conf Championship game and used that to convince York that his analysis could do the the job of Harbaugh and that they just needed a coach who would comply - enter Tomsula - and follow his analysis. Tomsula has made several mentions to this throughout the year.

So the next time someone wants to fly banner over the field it should read "Fire Marathe A.K.A. Wormtongue" b/c he is basically that guy from LoTR who has full control of the King (York).
I thought he got fired

He got fired by getting a higher ranked position.
I think Baalke needs to go for sure, but it's deflating knowing this guy isn't going anywhere. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about him in the coach's box

Even if Marathe does indeed have zero to do with the GM, scouting, player personel, coaching and/or playcalling - and that's a huge if - he needs to be fired because as long as he remains then just the perception of involvement will taint the team.

One of the primary sources of this loosing mentality that has infected the 49ers from top to bottom.

Stupid analytics... need a real football person to help with the roster.
Paraag was getting heat back in daddy York's day. He accused the fans of turning on him because of his race...Laughable, if the head of ISIS could turn this nightmare around the fans would be ok with it
Well, paraag was "tried out" in the booth on whether to throw the red flag or not. But that simply failed when harbaw looked to him on half a dozen different occasions and the flag was thrown incorrectly for all but one instance. Harbs had enough, and got him out of there. IF he really and truly DOES have influence in picking a HC or in drafting, then we are screwed and it is obvious why. The only thing "race" has anything to do with this is, if he did't grow up like other American kids , eating, playing, sleeping football, how in the world could paraag have any idea whatsoever to know WTF he was doing. Our problems at the top would be a lot easier to understand if paraag really is invovlved in making personnel choices. If true, until that ceases we are truly bat screwed.

I just have a hard time beliieving that the York's would make a mistake that grandiose. They would have to be dumber than a bunch of rocks to have a "foreigner" helping pick HCs, and players. Just let him do the books. But for heaven's sakes, keep him away from the draft. Leave that to football guys...of which paraag is NOT one.

But if true, for God's sake, get him out of the "football ops" business and lock him in a room with his calculator. Please tell me this was reported mistakenly.
