I agree with you. If they want a competition, lets see David Carr and Nate Davis challenge eachother for QB #2. As far as I'm concerned, this should be Alex's job. If he can't get the job done, time to move on. NO MORE EXCUSES! Lets settle this once and for all. Give Alex the keys to the franchise.

Yeah, Carr's comments exude a lot of 'hunger' and 'determination' for a guy who's just supposedly signing up for a 'backup' role. -Don't be surprised if that confidence wins over coach Sing during training camp (the same way it did with Shaun Hill).

Alex is the starter, but Smith didn't exactly write it in stone after a handful of mediocre performances/misleading QB stats during garbage time/garbage games.

Houston Texans (2nd Half), Green bay Packers (4th quarter), and the Jags game was a gimme. What still surprises me is that Alex couldn't even take advantage of scoring huge numbers on live television (twice) against teams that were happily turning the ball back over to us.

HOUSTON GAME .... 3 TD's in 1 HALF... lose by 3.... can't say I blame him for that performance....GREEN BAY GAME Rodgers had a good first half and week second.... Alex was the exact opposite... I wouldn't Say all the close losses ARE ON HIS SHOULDERS ALONE.... During this season I would honestly say I Blame PLAY CALLING.....games where Raye was easy to predict.....and I blame the play calling for for the minesota game.... even with Shaun Hill you still try the quick pass for the 1st and THE GAME... as well as lets not forget the OL sucking... and contributing to our Offense having trouble as well as our Defense playing to much and playing inconsistant... If you look at the close games...INDY by chance... a good team... not a bad defense... good Offense... they had to pull out a trick play to come up on top in the 4th quarter..... minesota... already went over it.....etc. If you look at the team and how close we were last season.... I say you change up the OL add some depth to the Secondary, better play calling....and EVEN WITH ALEX SMITH... PLAYOFFS.... stop acting like he is the main problem... we need OL and some Depth and we have a playoff team in my opinion... we barely missed it last year because a few plays/bad play/game calls... not because of Alex Smith...

BTW: He earned the chance to get the starting Nod this season.... if we want our team to have consistency we need to give him the chance he earned last year and help him out by fixing the major parts of our offense that was bad the OL... the real thing you should be flaming all the damn time. Him splitting time with Carr will only hurt things.

Fine job.
It's amazing the amount of people who are coming around to Carr, saying that he has a good chance of being our starter. It must be something about the offseason, it's warping your minds.

3 months ago, no one would have wanted Carr on this team, and now people are saying he should start. It's insane.

I want whomever gives us a better chance to make and win in the playoffs. I don't care who starts as long as it's the better QB.

And why on earth do you think Carr is that person? Because of his enthusiastic Twitter posts?
