And someone said how can you not root for Carr, well actually I am, in the same way i did for JTO, Hill, and even Davis. As the backups I hope they turn out pretty good. As for now Smith is the starter. And it's not about just backing him, it's about we know who our starter is now, so lets focus on getting that offense even more intact.
Why would you use a word like facts in a topic like this? I am not sure how long you have been watching the NFL, but I see non injury QB changes made all the time after a proclamation is made by the HC that so and so is definitely their guy.
You really can't use a strong word like fact. You know when it is close to a fact who the starter is? When the HC does not need to say anything...
When is the last time you heard Peyton, Brady or Bree's coaches proclaim they are definitely the starter?
Why would one use a word like "facts"? Because one's concept of "best player at the position" is a bit retarded, maybe? I donno . . . you tell me.
And even if Smith, eventually proves to be:
Two years ago JTO was the starter. That was a FACT.
Last year Shaun Hill was the starter. That was a FACT.
So how did that work out?
What is it about people that they so buy into a player's status on the team that they go all queer at the prospect that he may not be the best solution?
Also, maybe the reason that Yahoo! and others talk about there being a competition, is because Singletary actually has said as much?
Carr came to the Niners because he believes that he has the best shot at being a starter here. He's not intending to lie down and accept being a back up. Good on him! I hope that he makes it. It only means that the team will get better play out of that position than it has had for an eternity.
