Alex Smith is the guy and this is Smiths make or break year.. Carr is nothing more than a backup to help Smith and give us a #2 that can actually throw 30+yds with velocity.. (No dissing Hill, guy played his heart out..) Nate Davis can sit and learn from 2 #1 overall picks

i like how everyone is making a HUGE deal about this signing.

big fat Ray Ratto was griping about how this will be our biggest signing, Willis doesnt like him, the ticket prices are going up to pay his salary, etc, etc.

HES A BACKUP QB. hes a slightly better version of the same signing we made last year. Damon Huard.

he signed here because he thinks he can unseat Smith, the 49ers signed him to be a backup to Smith that might be able to throw a ball 30 yards if Smith gets hurt. despite what Carr thinks, hes never going to be more than the backup as long as Smith is healthy.

this whole thing has been ridiculous. who gives a crap! its a backup QB. he holds a clipboard on gameday. there isnt even anyone that good out there to go get. people just want to get all angry over nothing.
