Lets try it out if we lose next week. Alex doesn't have a lot of margin for error. This team has too much talent.

Carr is far worse than Alex Smith. "Something fresh" might be good enough to redeem one game, but teams would quickly pick up on Carr, and we'd revert to square one... if not even worse.
First game of the season. Alex Smith did not single-handedly drag this game down, no way. The best thing this team can do is make an amazing trade for a decent QB or just let Alex get some consistency and hope for the best.
