A franchise can not operate major off season events without a GM, so to be named later was not an option.

Baake and Gamble both have no prior GM experience, and both willing to take the job as intern GM without any additional compensation. However, the ownership and the senior management just couldn't see Baake or Gamble be able to perform when Singletary motivating him to go one way and Paraag.pushing him to go another. Scotty tried, oh well.

You are all ridiculous. Neither guy is going to hold the GM powers. Either an outside source or an in-house guy from the personnel department will become the next GM. Either way, the sky isn't falling. It's a collaborative effort.
