Finally, a writer calls out Sing's crappy philosophy

Look at the results that McDaniel is getting out of Orton in Denver. Pretty impressive. Orton had not particularly impressed anyone before. Coaching, gameplans, and playcalling matter.

I like Barrows, but Maiocco has been crap ever since he moved over to csn. He's constantly late with his reports. His big thing is going on knbr and stating the obvious. He has become a big schmooze. Did anyone read his player analysis of the Philly game? He said Chilo Rachal had his best game of the season.

Things would have worked out better for Sing had he hired a creative and talented OC to begin with, he hired JRaye to be the OC and follow his philosophy for the offense and shot himself in the foot in the process, and it's still baffling that he continues to run the same boring offense game after game and then turn around and flame everyone inside the 49ers headquarters when we lose...the only way he can save his job is allow his entire offensive coaching staff to come up with the gameplan and allow the offense more freedom and let the OC remove the predictability from the playbook, while he and Manusky focus on the defense where his talents can be best used, we need to start winning and NOW

Maybe but the last 3 times we did that, the creative OC left for a promotion or was too damn creative for us and we fired him.

Thays is very true, I'm sure it looks flashy on a resume to list "Offensive Coordinaor/San Francisco 49ers" when the team enjoys some success, just the title alone is pretty attractive ...But I dont think it will help Jimmy Raye or Jim Hostler at all.....But I'm getting tired of our OC's using the 49ers as a stepping stone, so I would hope we hire an offensive minded HC, then that way when the OC splits we still have a creative coach to run the offense

So true! Its like the saying "old dogs can't learn new tricks" and Sing just refuses to adjust to his players strengths instead of the other way around.

Not true! Take a look at Ortons' starts 19 through 34 (2008 with the Bears) his second full season as a starter.

Orton played very well. He has above average ability.

He also played well in his rookie year (for a rookie). This was all while in CHI, one of the worst offensive teams during that time.

McDaniels nabbed him going into his 3rd full year as a starter, the year that QB's arrive into the NFL.

You've turned into the biggest troll on the webzone. Amazing, I wish I could put you on ignore, that's how much respect I've lost of you.

^12 turnovers lost by a combined 8 points.

Here’s a philosophy hold on to the damn football

Exactly. I don't know any philosophy, strategy, or tactics that could work if our turnovers remain high.

Singeltary is not fumbling the balls muffing punts and tipping passes for the INT.
Coming into Sing's first season as head coach, he said this team will protect the football.(Among other things he said that have not been fufilled, but we will save that for another day) "We are not a CHARITY"... He has been preaching it since he took over...

While it's fair to say the players fumble the ball, throw the INT's, make the bad snaps, etc...

It's also fair to say, Sing has not done his job of coaching them up. Otherwise, our QB would not lead the league in interceptions. Our running back, would be doing a better job of protecting the ball. Our center would not be snapping the ball into orbit. Our punt returner, would not try to catch the ball while stepping out of bounds. Our starting corner would know to simply go down and seal the game...

Now IF, as some suggest, Singletary has done all he can to "teach" our players about protecting the ball, and this is still happening, then isn't it on Sing to replace these players with someone who will listen to him?

You tell me?

Really, it takes distant, often national writers to really report the sometimes ugly truth of local teams.

If you were a young writer with a family and no place to go, would you risk being exiled by the local team, not allowed at practices or in the locker room? Maybe losing your job? How about having tens of thousands of people seriously mad at you for upsetting their view of the world? Even so far as threats against you?

Most reporters in any field learn to hunker down and stay employed, try to sneak in a message that at least a few people will pick up on.

Barrows and MM are the leaks. They tell national writers things they wouldn't write themselves because they would not be getting inside info anymore.

I honestly think Sing is the dumbest coach in NFL history, and I'm not exaggerating. I'm pretty sure that no other team has hired such an unintelligent man as HC.

Do you even watch the games? Do you even understand how the game is played? What does the coach have to do with not holding on to the football? What do you want them to run the run and shoot super spread offense well that would take a good offensive line that can pass block. Would you still be this upset if they had less turnovers and were 3-2 but still ran the ball on 1st down lol.

There are drills that are run to teach ball security, obviously Singletary doesn't run any in practice. In High School we had a back who was a fumbler, coach gave him a football to carry around school for a week, he was too never take his hand off the ball while at school. If he was caught without touching it at anytime he got laps.
Believe it or not that taught him to be aware of the ball first and foremost and it cut down on his fumbling. Maybe I should see if Coach Clark is still around, he can teach Gore ball security.

Singletary should use this drill and tell Gore to walk around with a football everywhere he goes...

Gore's reply:

It's not just one guy who is repeatedly fumbling every game. It's a different one each game. Sometimes it's just bad luck or trying to hard.

BTW, what drill did you guys do to keep your QB from throwing INTs?
