Until someone explain to me why not one out of 32 NFL teams would spend even a 6th round choice on him, I have to say we go with AS, CK & JJ.
People slip under the radar all the time due to size, strength, intelligence, speed, or pedigree (school, conference, etc.). Doesn't mean you can't find diamonds in the rough, a la Kurt Warner or Tom Brady.

So you'll follow what other teams do rather than believe your own eyes.

I finally got around to watching Friday's game. I was most interested in seeing how Kaepernick and Tolzien looked, and suffice it to say that I am thrilled with Kap's progress but blown away by Tolzien (the only other time I had watched him was when the Niners played at SD in the pre-season last year). He gets out of center quickly; he is extremely decisive; his accuracy is fantastic. He also has a confidence in the way he directs the offense that I don't think is taught. I would love to see what he can do with the first-string offense. Perhaps we will get a chance in the third or fourth pre-season.
I don't see how Tolzien doesn't get picked up by any other team looking for a back-up and potential future starter. I believe Josh Johnson will not make the roster. Short of winning a Super Bowl, Alex Smith is going to have his hands full retaining his starting job next year, as both Tolzien and Kaepernick are charging hard. It is going to be interesting for sure.
Great post, I especially agree with the bolded.
He showed all that last year in the San Diego game, only better now. I remember a few of us touted his potential early on and were scoffed at (some are still scoffing) and now the bandwagon has gained quite a bit of momentum, with even his teammates and numerous journalists jumping on. I really think this kid's the real deal and only hope we don't blunder and let him go. There's a way he carries himself in the huddle and behind center that only comes naturally and/or with alot of experience. He won't last a minute on the practice squad and I trust Coach et al recognize that fact.

i love how the tolzien for #2 movement will calm after this last game. ppl love snap judgments. he should never have been in discussion to the the backup. Kaepernick was designated by Harb for a reason. He just brings too much to the table with his feet and arm. Is he a competent back up at this point? Tough to say, but he definitely can move the chains. I like Tolzien too, just not at #2.

I think there is something special to him. Harbaugh has an eye for quarterbacks, and he chose this guy. The future might be very bright for Kaep on this team he seems better and better as time goes on.
