Yea thats what I thought.....this only works for college football.....and even at that I have some doubts.....

That said, for the better part of a decade, the power rankings were nothing more than a reminder of just how dismal our beloved 49ers were...

Not the case now.

And that is why anybody here is even looking at the power rankings or talking about them... simply because it's the last thing anybody wanted to do for the past 9 seasons!

Just enjoy it.

We have a not played a team with a high powered passing attack (Green Bay, New England, Houston, Buffalo for example).....and if you look at the rest of our schedule we aren't going to play an elite passing team - not until the playoffs. Cowboys passing game was the best we have faced all year and we lost because their passing overcame us. Philadelphia also, we were getting ripped, bu luckily came back. Looking at the playoffs, Dallas could very well win their division, along with the Packers, and Saints. Wild cards Atlanta, probably. Besides Dallas our only loss, we haven't played and will not play any of these teams for the rest of the regular season. 49ers exact power ranking is difficult to assess, however they are at least in the top 8 or 9.

BLT makes me hungry, but after last night, Flaco and the Ravens they took a big step backwards. And SD is not in the top 10 (doesn't matter that they are in 1st in a crappy Division). Too many of these top ranked teams are long in the tooth and have been getting love because of who they use to be and previous seasons records. Big Ben still has gas in the tank but that Pitt D is not the same as last year.

NO, still dangerous and still no D. We are much more of a complete team and we are better than the team that almost beat them last year
Take away Brady, and we are better than NE.

We are 3 at best and 4 at worst

How the hell is New Orleans above us. They have a worse record despite an easier schedule. What, because they smacked around, dominated, and blew out the winless Colts? We smacked around, dominated, and blew out one of the stronger teams in the NFC (Tampa) - the same team that beat those very Saints. How is there even a morsel of logic for them being above us???

Drew Brees. Until Alex or any QB on our team becomes elite, teams like NO(Brees), Packers(Rodgers) and NE(Brady) will all be ahead of us.
