I'm sure if you go back to last season, the Niners sucked so hard on Sundays, that a lot of webzoners got pissed the hell off and said some mean things about this coaching staff and front office, while being issued warnings from mods.

Why should Grant be held to a higher standard? Then again, he doesn't seem like hes a real Niner fan. So I'm curious why hes letting his emotions run his opinions on the articles.

Man just once, Id love for Barrows or Biderman to s**t on the Niners after a bad performance and be as pissed off as I would be, but I know they never will. Maybe the beat guys are just used to losing and stopped caring. Its just a job I guess
Meanwhile, PS balancing out the universe with wreckless abandon.

Because some take his b******t serious and it drives nonsensical narratives on social media and this forum.

I mean the WZ post his articles on the home page.

It's just his opinion - who cares?

That's like the WZ posting articles that I've "written" lol

Like Allbright said, he got a press pass because of his father...no one in the industry takes him serious and he also stated no one in the 49er media backs him up ever. Dude is a turd with a press pass.

I don't hold Grant to a higher standard that's for damn sure lol.

I hold him to the same standard as a (much) lesser skip Bayless or Stephen a Smith. It's all assumptions/bias talk meant to instigate/debate.

What bothers me is how some people somehow feel like his opinion is actually valuable? The other guys you brought up are journalist/reporters...they interview and report what they've seen heard etc...they don't really form huge football opinions like Grant does. They don't really have the resume to do that (though the Matt's imo have a longer resume). FWIW when stuff is bad they report it.

Grant acts like he's a OC/DC, QB coach, WR coach, RB coach etc...what the hell kind of resume does he posses to be able to form those opinions and play it off like he's some football savant? He's very arrogant and doesn't really have the resume to back it up imo.

There is getting pissed at things that you should get pissed about and then there's getting pissed due to unrealistic expectations or extremely flawed thought process.

We were in year two of a full blown rebuild of one of the least talented teams in a long time and lost our starting QB, RB and riddled with other injuries last year...what were you expecting to see?

what bad stuff do they report exactly?

Most of the stuff they say is very neutered and basic. I read all of these guys (although I stopped with Barrows because of Athletic paywall, I'm not paying for that s**t). These guys seem very held back in their criticisms to be honest with you. It's almost like they get spooked, because they don't want their 49ers press credentials revoked from Jed, so they're tippie toeing a fine line here.

I feel like people don't like Grant for the same reasons people hated Kawakami (who got his credentials revoked at one point if I remember correctly). Obviously, the fans are always going to hate the negative reporters all the time. It's fairly predictable.

that might be true, but when I read his stuff, to me, they just read like your typical angry 49ers webzone post that you'd see in the John Lynch thread after another embarrassing loss. Is it good writing? Probably not. I tend to like his training camp reports, and that's about it.

Maybe people expect him to just be quiet, be calm, and report factual information like every other guy after losing? I guess so. Yes, I know he writes these things for clicks. That's what people are gonna want to read after losing.

even if we lose this year and go 5-11, you'll hear the same excuses from the fans, the media, and the organization. Whether its this or that. Maybe Garappolo doesn't pan out like we think he does. Maybe the secondary isn't good. The o-line isn't good. No one likes to hear excuses.

I certainly hope that if things don't go that well, I don't hear the "We're in year 3 of a full blown rebuild" excuse. Its so lame and tired out at this point.

I can't speak for everyone but I dislike Grant because he doesn't have the actual knowledge of football or X's and O's to be as cocksure as he is on everything he writes. He's embarrassingly bad when he tries to talk X's and O's and he does nothing more than drive b******t narratives. If his dad wasn't who he is, no one would give one thought on the b******t he writes. Basically someone with his limited elementary knowledge of the sport he covers should never be the condescending prick that he is. Being ultra negative on everything doesn't make you "real". Grant Cohn has always been a silly clown and I honestly can't see how anyone takes his s**t serious.

If people blame JG, the line, and the secondary, they're ultimately blaming Lynch and/or Shanahan.

I don't want to hear the rebuild excuse this year either, but it was perfectly valid for the last two years. You can't expect them to have immediate success with the roster they inherited. Now that we have a franchise QB and a legit pass rush, it's time to see results.
If coach Rob Mendez and Grant Cohn fought... my money would be on Mendez.

Its ok guys. Grant slept at a Holliday Inn once.

Is that why the Holiday Revenues are down?
The global hotelier, which owns the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands, said that revenue was down 2pc to $1.85bn (£1.2bn), from $1.9bn a year earlier and operating profit was 3pc lower at $651m.

Noticing the lack of an article from these guys...
Cohn jumping on silver back with the jimmy G failing and Mullen becoming the starter sooner than later. Also he thinks jed has threatened Shanahan saying if the results aren't there heads are going to roll.
