Maybe NFL fans are just too nervous during games, so they want to make everything black-and-white, but why are folks so simplistic with their analysis?

Yes, a QB can be playing well, and his team can still have coughed up the ball 4 times. These 2 things can coexist.

But wait, there's more.
I like how Kyle Shanahan and Robert Saleh have used their personnel this season. They've made Dee Ford and Nick Bosa rotational pass rushers, not full-time players. Used 22 personnel (2 backs, 2 TEs). Made Jeff Wilson Jr. the designated red zone rusher. All smart, gutsy choices.

Why would anybody listen to these two during a game? Even if you like them they would just crap on the team for 3 hours. And Lowell has a face for radio and a voice for print.

Exactly. Isn't one of the 49ers games ranked #2 all time?

Anything to deflect from his Bosa will be a bust prediction.

While a key MO of his, still, is to dish out polarizing takes that trigger reactions, I do think he's actually matured and improved as a beat writer overall.
That's part of his schtick; he's well aware of it and in on the joke...it's how he stays relevant and gets hits in the sports media world. But if you listen to some of the periscopes, he does better analysis than he used to. Again, it's usually black and white (this guy stinks; this guy is incredible) but he's hitting the middle ground more often and, in my opinion, if anything, he's gotten interesting to follow.
There's not much out there these days; Maiocco is always solid but has been more general analysis and features since rising up within NBC Sports. I haven't signed up for the Athletic so no more Barrows either.

Eventually the hot-takers get exposed and are compelled to acknowledge the merits of this good team.
