I like Grant. He's a little bit of a shock jock, but entertaining nonetheless. Good for him and his new job.

I get fooled looking at the bylines with SI as the source, and when opened see Kone's name. If there was a poll on the Zone to ban his articles I'm certain it would be a landslide.

I just wish the main page would show the name of the author instead of the name of the site when it lists articles.

Cohn is just the latest in a long line of writers who make a living doing this. His father was the same way. So is Kawakami. Ira Miller. Glenn Dickey. These are some of the most honored writers in SF bay area history but they all had an edge to them. People read them whether they agreed with them or not. Their job was and is to get the fan base fired up. It sells.

10 years ago I might have agreed with you. Now there's ton of guys on YouTube doing reporting, breaking down film, making highlight videos etc and there's really no reason to listen to Cohn on anything.

Yep. NCommand, AB81, Thl, JonnyDel etc... >>>>>>>> Mr. Cone.

P.S. I got snookered by that SI article too. Wouldn't have read it if it was the Press Democrat.

Holy s**t, check out this take from last year. Wow:

Lol Matt Miller is soooo f**king butt hurt about Lynch. Lol

I made the mistake of watching that video. Horrible. Pretty much not a single thing he said was correct, and time makes it literally look worse. Maybe his caution about Dee Ford's injury history... but whatever.

It's easy to be a skeptic.

He did predict Bosas sack total correctly. Lol. And he was right about Wish. Other than that I was hearing "wrong" in my head over and over and over

Good for him. He's good entertainment in the offseason.

I remember when I couldn't stand Kawakami, but Cohn has taken trolling the 49ers and spamming articles to a whole new level this off-season. Clearly someone is trying to establish their reason for existence. I have to train myself to not click on a Sports Illustrated link because I know who it is - the king of click-bait.

Yeah. I was never a big TK guy because he often came off spiteful and snarky, but you could never criticize him as an actual writer or his knowledge and sources. My biggest issue with Grant is he is a piss poor writer with limited football acumen in addition to being spiteful and snarky lol
Sounds like McKinnon wants to beat this guy's ass too

I was duped when I clicked on the SI article as well

Love McKinnon calling him out as well lol

Kawakami had a long established career as a professional sports writer before he even came to the Bay Area. He went in on the franchise when they were screwing up but has been a lot more willing to praise this new regime for learning from the mistakes of the previous ones. His takes tend to be far more balanced and reasonable than the nonstop storm of negativity that comes from the Cohnheads.

He was one of the initial folks hired by the Athletic when they invested in the bay area market. They eventually poached Barrows and Lombardi. TK is solid.
