Florio likes to think of himself as the smartest person in the room. He has this delusion that only he can analyze situations appropriately because he was a lawyer and everyone else who isn't is an idiot.

Truth is he just comes off as another snobby media personality.

All these guys are just stating an opinion that may or may not be based on any real info. They're in the business of being read or heard. They don't care if they're criticized.

It just shows the sad f-ing state of the media. Florio and other media members have less football knowledge than 95% of the posters on the Webzone, yet they have a platform to spew their garbage. These guys aren't reporters, they're entertainers living in the death throes of mainstream media outlets.

When is comes to low level knowledge of the game, I'd go with the "small time" analysts that crunch film, there are many out there. Combining that with the advanced stats (PFF, NFL Matchup, NextGen) will give a good breakdown of the team. When it comes to the high level analysis (front office stuff), the local writers are good. This is just referring to the 49ers. National media is trash.

All they had to do was just ignore the fact they were wrong and move on. Just pretend it didn't happen. They woulda got ribbed for a couple weeks but nobody would gaf anymore by now. But he keeps doubling tripling quadrupling down on it and it makes no sense. Just move on. But I guess he knows it gets him clicks and what not. Sports "journalism" is such a joke.

I live in DC with a ton of Skins and cowboys fans and they all think the media hates their teams. They all think the refs are against them and calls never go their way.

Florio is an ex attorney turned NFL pundit. He's just another talking head but one who comes from an occupation where you argue your case even when wrong.

In general many do yes, you have a lot of 40 to 50 year old writers and pundits out there who still hold a pretty serious grudge from the 80's and 90's glory years when our team was the Patriots of that era. Add to that how Kyle and John pretty shamelessly trolled the s**t out of them going into this draft by letting them run with whatever narrative they wanted to make up and there are a lot of bitter mofos out there. They don't like being made to look foolish and they blame our front office, when the funny part is all we did was say nothing and let them make fools of themselves. It is going to be a bumpy year in the press as a result.

Cowboys fans are always some how simultaneously the victim and the best thing ever in their own minds...so not surprised there.

As to Washington, If my team were that big of a trash fire it would feel like the media hated us too....problem with the logic there is that the things being reported are true.

Yea I don't know one WFT fan that actually likes Dan Synder. Once the hiring of Joe Gibbs wore off it's been pure hate towards him for the most part. Now you have even more crap about him coming out over the last year or so that really sheds a light on his character as a man.

Agreed about cowboys fans. They in there own little world.

It's only natural for fans to think the media is against their team. You have to consider that the writers that cover the other 31 teams are going to favor those teams. Then you have to throw in the so called west coast bias because 2/3 of the country often doesn't see the late games from our time zone.

Don't let this stuff bother you. It has nothing to do with how good our team will be.
