Definitely agree. I think those would be the differences.

last yr we shouldve beaten them but once again under singletary we beat ourselves. but the saints have not looked nearly like the team that won the sb in 09

Not buying us at #5. Seems overrated. We should be some where inside of 10. When we get Braylon back, plus one week against the Brown, I will be more comfortable putting us at #5. Not a sign of confidence when Crabtree is the only wide receiver catching the ball last Sunday.

On the bright side, that is the best D line we will face, which neutralized Davis to a large extent.

Me either...not that rankings matter, but we should be fourth...second in the NFC.

I think power rankings are both (1) a reflection on performance so far and (2) a prediction about what will happen the rest of the season. On (1) you are absolutely right, but because (2) also matters I think it's a matter of personal ranker opinion as to who will look like the better team at season's end between us and the Saints.

Agree 100%. The fact that we can get pressure rushing 4 and sometimes 3 is a game changer. This year we will make ever team one dimensional (no run game). This also means we won't get carved by a QB throwing to a WR entering space a blitzing defender vacated. I think a lot of people on this board don't understand just how good our defense is. I dont know how another team can counter a defense that plays so well straight up, simply because the pressure is coming from a 4 man rush. Screens dont work because our LBs are too good. Deep balls dont work, because we can afford to keep saftey coverage. Even our prevent isn't that bad, because Smith/Soap/Ray can get after it. Can you guys imagine how good we could be when the D is fully installed?
