Jim Harbaugh has joined George Seifert (1989) and Steve Mariucci (1997) as the only 49ers coaches to start their tenures 7-1. Seifert improved to 9-1 en route to a 14-2 regular season and eventual Super Bowl victory. Mariucci made it to 11-1, closed the regular season 13-3, and fell in the NFC championship game.
