Teams in all sports are going to charge whatever the market will accept. Big wealthy metro areas are going to cost more just like the housing. Those areas also pay higher wages so that's one of the reasons teams can charge more. It's not just football. All types of entertainment cost more in high cost regions. Look at the price of baseball tickets or concert tickets which both can be over $100. The inflation in the sports and entertainment industries is thru the roof but as long as fans keep paying those prices they will keep raising them.

Edit: Just as bad as SF.

Yeah it's economics...living in SF or NY is stupid expensive. Taxes are more expensive, gas is more expensive, food is more expensive, s**t beer is more expensive.

No way you can expect sporting events to be cheap

is what it is, if I can make it to a game a yr, awesome...if not I'm fine right on the couch or at a bar.

I understand the regional dynamics of economics, population density impact, and cost of living. My initial response was to the praise that Jed was 'printing money.' I'm a season ticket holder who attends every game, and yes that is a choice. But I do take offense that Jed is 'printing money' by charging ridiculous prices to myself and others who want to attend games and support the team. I don't expect them to be cheap due to the regional price inflation, but I don't see a reason for them to be as high as they are.

The reason is..............................You are still buying tickets so they will keep charging high prices.

I love attending games live so I can't 'choose' to be a Vikings fan, the Niners are my only choice and Jed's monopoly allows him to say, "Hey buddy, want to come to my games? Come on in! $$$"

Right. You have a choice. You can be a fan of any team you want. That is not a monopoly. You are just inconvenienced.

Yes. He has spent the money and put together a world class team.

One thousand times yes.

Agreed. He's made his mistakes, but he is not alone in that over the years. IMO he seems to have learned his lesson after Harbaugh and has gotten out of Shanahan and Lynch's way. That tells me he cares about winning, and I appreciate that as a fan.

As far as tickets, I'm out of town and try to fly out to a game every other year. We were planning to this year, until the virus

I've been to cardinals stadium out here and tix/concessions are not much different. The expensive part for my wife and I is always that we fly in and usually go ham in the city for a few days.

Agree. It's not a monopoly in the sense that there's also competing sports like college football, college and pro basketball, college and pro baseball etc.... i.e. a lot of sports entertainment is everywhere basically all competing for the sports customers dollars. P.S. College ticket prices have gone up too. In that sense, capitalism and the free market still works.

AGree. When your team appears in the super bowl, it's *not* an average NFL team. It definitely is world class. I think for Basketball, Baseball, and the NFL, if your team franchise is tops in the U.S. then it's tops in the world. Unlike Soccer where we're perennial door stops for the world.

Thats a complete false equivalence. They are different sports.

No it isn't, It's all *sports* and there are a lot of folks that like all the various sports - for example I like basketball as well as football and baseball. I will spend money on football and baseball, but I'd rather watch basketball, for example. The sports market is the sports market - just like the movie market encompasses different types of categories - westerns, action, adventure, sci-fi etc...

False equivalence is a logical fallacy in which an equivalence is drawn between two subjects based on flawed or false reasoning. This fallacy is categorized as a fallacy of inconsistency.[1] A colloquial expression of false equivalency is "comparing apples and oranges". -- Wikipedia.

God his arguments keep getting dumber and dumber. Monopoly...really?!? There's 32 NFL teams. There's 50 US states. Be happy you even have one close by. This isn't even close to being a monopoly. And again , for years, the raiders were in the bay. You had more choice then 99% of fans. Jed didn't choose to be the only team in the bay. The raiders left. That wasnt Jed's doing.
love coming in here to see all the current "wah wah everything is jeds fault" theories. the NFL is a business an each team is a company. its not a charity no matter how you feel. really not hard to understand at all.

100 percent correct!!!All i can tell you is that when the 49ers started offering "PSL'' For the brand new Levi's Stadium There was non-football fans buying this up.Trying to turn a PROFIT!!Then 49ers sucked there for a few years.... they tried to sue Jed York. Because this ""fans couldn't" turn a profit trying to re-sell those "PSL'S" /Season Tickets.
