100 percent correct!!!All i can tell you is that when the 49ers started offering "PSL'' For the brand new Levi's Stadium There was non-football fans buying this up.Trying to turn a PROFIT!!Then 49ers sucked there for a few years.... they tried to sue Jed York. Because this ""fans couldn't" turn a profit trying to re-sell those "PSL'S" /Season Tickets.

I believe a lot of corporations in the Bay Area have bought these tickets and also the Stadium Suits too. I remember a couple of years back when the 49ers were still in candlestick, several banks would give out the tickets to their high producers at their banks as a bonus. Tough for a regular fan to compete with a fortune 500 bank when it comes to buying season tickets and other 49er stuff.

There is only one team that is practical to go see games live due to drive time. The only reason that the Cowboys are 'America's Team' is that the NFL has blanketed Texas and most of the surrounding states in their coverage zones. The NFL dictates all of this. Its like Facebook claiming that they are not a monopoly because there are other social media 'choices' out there. If you are in a certain age range 'soccer mom' tells you "I don't know why you missed the meeting, I posted it on Facebook." So you are forced to be on that medium. For teens you have to be on Snapchat and Instagram to communicate with your peers. You can 'choose' others but its not a real choice. I love attending games live so I can't 'choose' to be a Vikings fan, the Niners are my only choice and Jed's monopoly allows him to say, "Hey buddy, want to come to my games? Come on in! $$$"

Right. You have a choice. You can be a fan of any team you want. That is not a monopoly. You are just inconvenienced.

Agree. It's not a monopoly in the sense that there's also competing sports like college football, college and pro basketball, college and pro baseball etc.... i.e. a lot of sports entertainment is everywhere basically all competing for the sports customers dollars. P.S. College ticket prices have gone up too. In that sense, capitalism and the free market still works.

Thats a complete false equivalence. They are different sports.

No it isn't, It's all *sports* and there are a lot of folks that like all the various sports - for example I like basketball as well as football and baseball. I will spend money on football and baseball, but I'd rather watch basketball, for example. The sports market is the sports market - just like the movie market encompasses different types of categories - westerns, action, adventure, sci-fi etc...

False equivalence is a logical fallacy in which an equivalence is drawn between two subjects based on flawed or false reasoning. This fallacy is categorized as a fallacy of inconsistency.[1] A colloquial expression of false equivalency is "comparing apples and oranges". -- Wikipedia.

No actually it is. If there was a second football league that was accessible then it would be equivalent. Its like you are trying to compare a doctor with a dentist because they are both in the medical field.

Yes. He has spent the money and put together a world class team.

One thousand times yes.

He spent a heck of a lot of our money to put together crap teams prior to last year and the prices weren't any lower.

When you say You can 'choose' others but its not a real choice. I love attending games live so I can't 'choose' to be a Vikings fan, the Niners are my only choice and Jed's monopoly allows him to say, "Hey buddy, want to come to my games? Come on in! $$$" is the *real* false equivalency argument. The market is defined as a willing buyer and a willing seller. Monopolies are characterized by price fixing. *Nobody* is price-fixing the 49er tickets. Jed is going to set the price as to what the market is willing to bear. Just because *you* don't want to be a willing buyer vs Jeb being a willing seller doesn't mean there is price fixing going on. It simply means you are not a willing partner which is a *choice* and that defines a *free market* -- choice. The fact that *you* choose not to go to the games doesn't mean Jed has a monopoly -- just because *you* say he has one. There's the apples and oranges argument.

other teams that have awefull product are still charging the same high prices. we are not an anomaly.
In 2011, I would never imagine that 49er fans would end up hating Harbaugh and love Jed York. And yet, here we are.

that's what happens when you let anger skew your judgement.

I couldn't stand your guts for many many years, like a lot of fans, Jed. Since then you've gradually regained my faith and my trust with your growth as a GM and your actions that have since backed up your words. Shanahan's extension has me a firm believer in this team and this organization again. We're back to competing for Championships. Something that once made us roll over laughing but also in unrelenting frustration as well. But he had a vision, and he has fulfilled it despite all the beatings, backlach, criticism, and overall s**t he's taken. So with that said, thank you Jed. I am truly faithful once again.
Those that complain about Jed who was young and has grown, should that their lucky stars we are not owned by Daniel Snyder or even Jerry Jones.
