So do we think frank gore is getting a front office job with the niners when he retires? Apparently he is already doing player evaluations for us.

Let me get this straight. John and Kyle didn't even tell their own coaches who our first pick was going to be. Jed then goes to Gore who doesn't work for the team, and happened to most recently play for the team who picked in front of us and asked him to evaluate Lance.

John...Kyle...keep Jed out of the inner circle. The guy has never been able to keep his mouth shut.

When is Frank joining our Front Office.

To me Frank and a position with the 49ers when he retires is a forgone conclusion. I've rarely seen a player with stronger ties to an organization he doesn't play for.

I have zero problem with that honestly. People have commented on Gore having a knack for scouting in the past. Just get him a job working in the front office whenever he retires. It's kind of cool to see that they were pulling out all the stops and looking everywhere for recommendations on where to go. You could do worse than pick the brain of a guy who has been acknowledged for having a tremendous football IQ.

Probably because that existing relationship goes back close to two decades. I think Jed knew that Gore wasn't going to run and talk to the media and even if he did, who cares? It was all part of doing their due diligence right? I'm guessing that Shanahan and Lynch both spoke to people outside of the organization to pick their brains.

Its the smart play. Go outside the echo chamber. When the Colts were deciding between Manning and Leaf they spoke to over a dozen consultants and QB scouts/coaches that weren't part of their organization. That group included Bill Walsh.
