Bro, Eddie had a very rough start as owner too. He hired Joe Thomas, who immediately removed all references to the past hero's of Niner football. Eddie got lucky when he hired Bill Walsh. Jed followed nearly the same path and got lucky when he hired Kyle and Jonh. they completely remade the roster and have been in the thick of the race every year. Don't forget that the reason Jed is running the team is because Eddie got into trouble with the law and was voted out by the league owners. This coaching/ownership tandem has gotten the team to the conference championship multiple times since the rebuild. Jed has matured as an owner. Complaining about things like what you are bringing up is childish. This team never won a championship until 1981. That's over thirty years of futility, hence the term, The Faithful. Be one and quit being such a crybaby. Enjoy the ride, it doesn't come around often.

Right, someone is being melodramatic. Jed is doing fine as an owner. "Uncle Eddie" did some really stupid s**t, or he'd still be in control. Some folks just like having something to complain about.

I wouldn't say that Eddie got lucky when he hired Walsh or Jed got lucky when he hired Kyle. Both were considered to be among th best offensive minds in all of football. I think it was more a learning experience after making some poor choices.

Eddie got lucky that the Bengals did not promote Walsh to Head Coach. That led to his Stanford tenure followed by the 49ers hire. Walsh did not have the "right personality" to lead an NFL team which is why the Bengals did not promote him. The head coaches at the time were disciplinarian types and Walsh was the outcast, cerebral type.

With that logic, everything is lucky because there is always some alternative thing that could've happened.

there's always an element of luck involved but who cares. kc got lucky that philly fired andy reid, belichick got lucky that taking a flyer on tom brady worked out. jed got lucky that denver passed on hiring kyle. etc etc

He got lucky. Walsh originally wanted the Rams but they passed on him due to Paul Brown's BS.

Beyond that there were several points where Walsh nearly quit and he finally did quit due to Eddie's BS.

There's no reason why Walsh couldn't have coached another four or five years at least if ge didn't have an impulsive, hothead owner in his face constantly.

Its a successful season. Jed would've been happy even with a lost earlier in the playoffs remember 🤣
ReTool?
There's a difference between being grateful for the opportunity and being happy about losing the SB. Jed is the former, not the latter.

But the last thing he should do is panic like fans here and make some kneejerk move.

I feel sorry for Jed.
York Family. Jed, John, Denise.

Super Bowl = 0 - 3.....0.000 winning percentage.

Eddie D.

Super Bowl = 5 - 0.....1.000 winning percentage.

I will take Eddie D every day of the week. Twice on Sunday. 5 times on Super Bowl Sunday.

Jed says "we win Super Bowls." "That's what we do." "We hang Championship banners."

** You guys are missing the point if you think that's what he said we strive for. He said that's WHAT WE DO. With a sense of ENTITLEMENT.

So the question remains. Can we win with the Yorks? Because so far we are the Vikings or Bills. Stacking up Super Bowl losses and NFC Championship losses.

Remember when fans got mad at him for saying "We don't hang NFC championship banners"

The fans get what they deserve. 2nd place as long as Mahomes is in the league. Another 20 years of losing until that guy retires

It could be. So far they have NOT shown they can win the big one. The talk a lot. But so far....

0 - 3.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The San Francisco 49ers will have a change in ownership, but the team will remain in the family.

CEO Jed York will become the team's principal owner after buying enough equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York of Youngstown, the Sports Business Journal reported Monday.
