Ditto.

This is a political issue when you cut through it. Most likely, some council member wants to be mayor someday. It should be more about getting together, talking, and solving a problem. But that's not the lesson I see here for the kids. It's that taking shots at the rich guy is more important than talking and thinking things through. Kind of reminds me of:

"b***h, I live in a f**kin' trash can....."
Man I really miss the Chappelle show and I always loved his stand up.

Soooo good!

You don't see that kind of thing in other fan bases. We're special.

lol this place is always so black and white with every topic to the point of silliness. Jed may be totally in the right or he may have screwed over some kids playing soccer on Saturdays, neither would surprise me and I'm sure the issue will work itself out . But it's posts like this that i just don't get, It doesn't make you any less of a fan to disagree with what the ownership does and trust me we are not the only fan base that does that. I care waaaaay more about the players, coaches and cheering for my team on game days. I just can't get super hyped for VIP parking lol. Perhaps we just have different definitions of fandom

To me, it's not about 'fandom.' It's about the Niners competing with the rest of the league on revenue. If that wasn't important, they would have never moved out of Candlestick and had a corporate-friendly, modern stadium built. And now that the South Bay gets to share the wealth a little - that new $50 million in business as a result of the SB coming won't hurt - you've got bitter politicians down there trying to make an issue out of soccer moms possibly needing to take their kids to a different park for play-soccer. If you spent ANY time in ANY other city that has an NFL stadium, you'd know how ridiculous and petty this is. In Dallas, for example, Jerry Jones got the authorities to use eminent domain to just seize private property for his stadium. The land owners were out of luck -- and they vote! -- so what.

Yup screw the people who got their land seized and screw the kids york renegaed on.

Getting billionairs' pockets lined with more money is what matters.

do you just read headlines and not the whole story ?

Whos land was seized ? how is it seized ?

How is this lining the Billionaires pockets ?

Actually, the Niners did not seize property. Jerry Jones and a number of other owners did that to get their stadiums built. Plus, I'm not sure York is actually the one who reneged on the deal. As I understand it, the City of Santa Clara backed out of the deal. And, I'm not saying lining billionaires' pockets is what matters. I'm just saying that it's the reality in the NFL. In fact, it's the way of life in our new United Corporate Oligarchies of America imaginary democracy.

Look, if you need to pound on York over this thing, that's fine. But let's not pretend he's the devil or that he's any better or worse than the other billionaires around the country who own NFL teams.
Too bad the Niners owner isn't as classy as this guy...

Or how about Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, who is being investigated by the FBI and the IRS on possible fraud charges. Classy!

This one goes too far. If anyone wants to discuss this proposed deal please make a separate thread for it which I can lock when it gets ridiculous. This thread is specifically for discussion on a sensible level about Jed York.

And, Young2Rice, specifically whose land has been seized? Link or retraction prior to the draft please.

He didn't break any rules though, he didn't attack anyone. He posted his opinion on Jed and his shady land dealings. I don't see how that is against any rules. It's okay to disagree on stuff as long as it's in the rules.
