I'm very happy that Harbaugh/49ers have one-game-at-a-time mentality

We're 8-1. And when you look at our remaining schedule, it's entirely possible for us to run the table. 5 NFC West games, the Ravens, and the Steelers. The Ravens haven't looked too hot the last few games, while the Steelers will be a great challenge. We all have talked about this. There's a high likelihood we get a first-round bye, and depending on if the Packers ever lose... we could even challenge for the #1 seed.

But that's the thing. There's still 7 more games and it's easy to overlook our NFC West opponents. We're beating teams that we weren't expected to beat, but now that we're starting to be seen as an elite team... the question is... "Will we win the games we're SUPPOSED to win?" Elite teams don't drop the ball when they're faced with lesser competition, and I think that will be the true test for us in the last half of the season.

I'm liking the approach Harbaugh and the team have. It's incredibly easy to get ahead of yourselves and think you'll be in the playoffs automatically after an 8-1 start. I really hope the team stays hungry and BREEZES through our remaining schedule. That would be epic.

I never get tired of seeing or hearing that 8-1! You make a great point. Harbaugh and the staff have done a great job at keeping the team playing at a high level and keeping them grounded at the same time. I think this week will be no different.
Agreed. It is easy to drop one against a bad team, see the Ravens yesterday. Harbaugh is doing a good job of keeping them as the worker, the underdog. He is definitely selling they dont think we are good thing. He needs to keep that going.

9ers are winning as a team which is the best part.
Good post. I bet every week at the casinos here in Vegas. In fact every week in every NFL season for the last 30 years.

It always seems to happen that a top tier team loses to a team that everyone thought they should crush.

The difference come down to top tier coaching and we have it! Focusing on one-game-at-a-time mentality is a winner. We are fortuneate to have JH & his staff.
totally agree. Game planning, great to us out coaching other teams for a change.
It's a great point. The focus and mental toughness of this team is a pleasure to watch. For all the tough guy bravado that characterized the Nolan and Singletary years, those teams were so soft between the ears. Not this team, though! And at the end of the day, that really is the most tangible difference between this year's team and the teams of preceding seasons that would routinely lay eggs or deflate mid-game at the first sign of adversity.
we'll see how good we play when we play a weaker team coming of such an emotional win see if we can keep the 1 game at a time mentality
