I have a no problems with newcomers so long as they remain faithful to the team in the long run.

I do think new fans have to take the time to learn the history of the team because that is very important as far as being a fan.

It's the fairweather fans that only come around when the team is winning and the football fans that claim teams that are going to or win the superbowl and change every year that bother me.
I don't like the bandwagon fans anymore than anyone else, but honestly who care? It comes with the territory of being good. I'd rather watch my team be good and deal with the bandwagon fans than only "die hards" going to Levis to watch a bad team get curved stomped every Sunday

I will say that I hate when idiots try to label us real fans with the bandwagon crowd, was someone born in the early 90s Most of my time as a Niners fan was I watching those dreadful 2000s teams, and all off the Tomsula & Chip Kelly years and I get called a bandwagon fan...lol ok get bent and think of actual material clowns
To each their own. As long as when you get on this wagon you stay on I'm all good with it.

Just ask them one question. What are your thoughts on JT o Sullivan or Cody Pickett.

pretty much my thoughts. Welcome in, guys. The water's warm.

This. Our boys need all the support they can get.

This was the third game in a row that I didn't have to sit right next to opposing fans. So refreshing!

I was curious about that. I didn't see a large crowd of Packers fans from what the TV showed. Usually Packers fans have taken over large sections (at least on TV it looked like). How was it this past Sunday?

I was in section 106 row 6. There were 3 rows of packer fans surrounding us. They were cool though, as soon as the game started they were very quiet, lol

Yes, I can't stand someone calling me a bandwagoner. I have the 9er logo tattooed on my right calf and some idiot tried telling me that I probably just got it now cuz they winning. So im like "hell no" I got it in May of 2005 right after our 2-14 season when we drafted Alex #1. REAL FAN!!!
Doesn't bother me at all. It's good for the team and doesn't demean or change your fandom at all.

It's beyond f**kin stupid that people try to use it as an insult.
This feels so similar to the early 80's when the Raiders moved away and the Niners went on their winning ways. There will be Raider fans that will turn into NIners fans.
I never understood why people care. This isn't unique to the 49ers or any specific team. Every team has different levels of fans. When a team is great....people who usually don't follow closely always jump on board. Who cares?

Another thing. People who are fans of a team but only truly care or show up when they are good are NOT bandwagon fans. That is not what a bandwagon fan is.

Yep, that's called a "Fair-weather fan".

you can try to sugarcoat it all you want. If you don't show up for your team when they're bad and only come around when they have success. You are a bandwagon or fair weather.

Ppl can be like, yea i like football and say i like the niners, but never wear any gear when they suck, but then all of a sudden if they're good they start repping niner gear, another form of fair weather.

Conclusion: it doesn't really bother me, i like the more fans, love seeing our stadium more packed. but they know deep down they're bandwagon. I just know where i stand with being a diehard of this team. that's all that matters.

My point is, that these two terms are used interchangeably, and they are not the same thing.
I'd love someone to try to call me out randomly about and trying to see if i am a bandwagon fan. lol

i accept all questions, just waiting for that day where i'm out and about to put me to the test.

Yep quite different.

A Fair-weather fan will remain a fan of the team forever, but they are not going to spend their money on a product that is not delivering the wins. They will come back though when the ship is righted. Most fans have some "Fairweather" within them, unless they are a complete diehard that just supports the team no matter what.

A Bandwagoner just see's the success, and wants to be a part of it. But once that success is gone, they will go find another team to join up on. Its like saying they were going to become a Steelers fan because the 49ers suck.

I dont care as long as people dont start calling me a bandwagon fan. Thats what always happens. People start questioning your fan hood. That s**t really gets me. I been through too many Cody Pickets, Ken Dorseys, Tim Rattays and Shaun Hills for that
