Same. I like more people under the tent, but have already been questioned... "have you always like the Niners?"

For the last 15 years or so, I look back at pictures and can tell the year based on which 49ers hat I'm wearing.
Every team has those fans. Personally it doesn't bother me. I have been a fan since 1986. I have my reason as to why I am a Niners fan and how I became one. I can only control what I do and I have missed 2 games since 2011 both due to circumstances I couldn't control. But does that make me a bigger fan than someone else? No. We all have our own reasons for our fandom. Some can't afford jerseys or tickets to games. It doesn't make them any less fans then ones who have season tickets. If people want to join a bandwagon so be it. As long as they represent the right way. Just be a good fan and others will do what they do.
I'm someone who can't remember when I started liking the 49ers back in the 80s. It's almost like I was born to like them, so I can't point to a specific point when I became a fan. I'm stuck for life no matter what happens.

My favorite 49er fans are thl and JD, I learn so much from them, and there is a ton of other fans here that know so much, that I learn a ton from and that if I miss a stat or play, they let me know it. Any newbie 49er fan here has to meet a tough and very high standard of knowledge here on these boards to be called 49er fans. Newbies have to be patient and prove themselves to the hall of famers here, so i hope they stay patient and work hard at being 49er fans.
Why wouldn't everyone want more fans. Even if they're new and just moved to the area or simply like to follow a winner, it's still better than having them root against us. Not everyone can be a fan for 65 years like me. Even new fans can be passionate.

This was the third game in a row that I didn't have to sit right next to opposing fans. So refreshing!

I was curious about that. I didn't see a large crowd of Packers fans from what the TV showed. Usually Packers fans have taken over large sections (at least on TV it looked like). How was it this past Sunday?

I was in section 106 row 6. There were 3 rows of packer fans surrounding us. They were cool though, as soon as the game started they were very quiet, lol

I'm in section 111. I did see some pockets of Packer fans but they didn't turn out anywhere near what they did in the regular season game, and there were also more Vikings fans the week prior.

The season ticket holders in the seats to the left of mine apparently exist lol! I had never met them prior (I attended all games and they sold their tickets every week), but they were at both playoff games. I gave them a warm handshake and told them to make sure to keep coming back. Whatever keeps the volume up for the team and the Cheathawk and NY Giant fans away!
I've been proudly rocking my niners gear in Pats country for a few decades now. Gives my family and friends someone else to cheer for during the game.

I did have someone ask me if I became a 49ers fan cuz of Jimmy G and I wanted to slap him.

Everyone was a bandwagoner at one point in time. I started liking the niners because I liked Joe Montana after watching the chicken soup bowl game. When the niners drafted him, I jumped on the bandwagon.
I grew up in the UK in the 80's
Had no US connections at the time
Started watching an NFL highlights package each Monday evening and liked what i saw in this "new" sport (new to me anyway)
One day was buying sweets (candy) from the shop on the way to school and there were these bubble gums with cards of NFL players in the pack. I said to my friend whoevers card comes out of this pack first I'm supporting that team.

Guess who came out? Joe Cool!!!!

Just happened to be the season that we won SB smashing the Broncos. Boy was I on the bandwagon.

The rest as they say is history
I came of age in 1981 as a sports fan, thanks to the first Super Bowl team.

I was 13, with my dad and my brother, heading back from pheasant hunting up in Williams California. I was in High School so I knew something was a brewing with the 49ers. My dad was SFPD had worked many a game at Kezar for security. In fact, he went to High School across the street at Poly.

The three of us listened to the 45-14 Dallas game on KGO on the way home. I've never looked back since. That week I bought my 2 first posters, Ronnie Lott and Fred Dean.

I also became a Warriors fan that year, Sleepy Floyd, Lester Conner, Purvis Short, Larry "Mr. Mean" Smith (they used to bring lunchpails to games), Joe Barry Carroll. I've been a Warriors fan ever since. Larry Smith was one of the baddest mofos ever. Draymond but without the offensive prowess. Too many Les Jepsens, Todd Fullers, Washburns, Jim Petersons to count.

I had gone to Giants games before that time, sneaking into games at Candlestick by hopping the fence at the main gate. The Count, Old Willie Mac, Jonnie LeMaster, Jack the Ripper, Young Chili Davis. Anyone remember Johnny Rabb, the catcher with all the talent but couldn't throw to second base. Mike Ivie, etc. That year we knocked the Dodgers out. We'd sit in the Upppper Deck. But, I started really following the Giants then.

Anyway, the point being EVERYBODY became a Giants fan in 2010, then EVERYBODY became a Warriors fan in 2015. Unfortunately, you have to make room for these bandwagoners. Being on the Zone since '06 we had our whole NOWIN EMPTY SUIT era, our Singletary era. Don't forget the Jimmy Raye Flea Flicker.

I don't understand the point of this thread. Is it a my epeen is bigger than your epeen thing? If you're a lifer great if your new great. Am I supposed to feel special I've only been a fan of 1 team my whole life? Is this thread about people with low post counts aren't really fans? Anyway, what's the point?
