Gotta get his jersey...even if he's here to "stretch the field" and not produce as much, he's still a legend in a 49ers jersey

Randy Moss nailed his press conference. Amazing how much more mature dude is. Sounds like a true professional. I believe him when he says he isn't worried about records or stats. IMO, I don't think we'll get any of the diva BS from him.

It is what we have been desperate for for many years now....
Carlos Rogers On Randy Moss :
"For me, the respect factor is that he's that Randy Moss that you always know is going to put that hand up. I think the for team's planning, they're always going to have to respect him and know that you're not going to leave him one-on-one with your corners, you're going to have a safety over the top of him. And with that said, it's opening a door for a lot of our other receivers, our tight ends; bringing an extra guy out of the box for our running backs"

In 2007, when Moss set an NFL record with 23 receiving touchdowns, 10 of his scores were receptions of less than eight yards and 14 were inside the red zone. From 2008-10, 16 of Moss' 29 touchdowns came inside the red zone.

Nice!!! The RZ target and commanding of two defenders constantly alone will allow Gore/Hunter/LMJ's to be receivers as well vs. staying in to block! What he will open up for the others is equally critical. It takes SO much more pressure and focus off the OL and our game planning (jumbo packages and max protect). It will still come down to the OL pass protection though enabling us to use all of our weapons. But expect Roman to move a weapon like this around to command even more attention and play-making opportunities. He already is a RB's best friend.
He should be on the field almost every single down and NOT just for deep patterns.

The offense will need to get it to Moss deep in the first game or two, else they (opp) are gonna view him as just a distraction.

Possibly but I doubt it. CB's HAVE to respect speed. Look at Ginn last year. We went "deep" to him, what, 3 or 4 times all of last year? Yet CB's played way off him esp. on 3rd downs. Teams will respect Moss even more and should commit a S to him as well.

That is the hope. So that the rest of the O opens up. However crossing routes curls post and fly etc need to to excercised so that the D is kept on their heels. Also depends on who the CB for the opp is. If you got a guy like Revis, chances are they will take their chances and dare you to go deep. Luckily there aren't too many like him.

True plus with Jenkins/Manningham, we now have a TON of speed on the bases...er, on the field. Go Giants/Niners.

Couldn't agree more...Roman has a full off season to install plays for all these weapons. The only guy we don't know a ton about is Jenkins but he will be brought along slowly. Plenty of tape on the strengths of VD, Moss, Manningham, Crabtree, Ginn, Hunter, Gore, etc. Here's to year 2 of 3 of the WCO installation.

Hope Moss gets hit deep early and often to keep him interested and motivated as the season goes.

Defense will be doubling Moss deep, so Smith might have to take a shot and maybe force it some times. Moss will never be wide open.

I'm sure that's what opposing teams have said his whole career. And yet...
