I like that new members of the Hall of Fame get informed by other Hall of Famers that they're being inducted. No idea if every new Hall of Famer personally knows the president of the Hall of Fame, but this way, they potentially can be informed by someone they know... a competitor... a teammate... a friend... maybe even someone they looked up to.
