Should we let Nike "go for it" on a new niner uniform?

I'd argue that if you have a solid uniform design, you wouldn't have a need for throwbacks. Switching uniforms just for the hell of it gives you uniforms like Seattle's.

Take the Yankees for example (I don't care for the team), they've pretty much worn the exact same uniforms since Babe Ruth played for them. It's a design that so simple in execution, yet still looks good.

We had a solid uniform design for 30 years and it got tossed to the wayside for a more (at the time) modern look.

Like I said before, the best uniform designs are ones that are simple in their design. You start to over complicate something and it starts to fall apart. That's the problem with the 96-08 uniforms, it was way to busy from a design perspective. The black outlines aren't necessary, neither is the logo on the pants and shoulders.

The only thing I liked from those uniforms was the metallic gold on the pants, wouldn't mind seeing that come back.

The NFL should just have an official "Throw backs" week, but the other 15 weeks the teams would have to wear their regular unis. At least this way we would only have to see the Steeler's bumble bee unis once a year.
Niner fans ain't ready for dat lyfe.

I think they should go back to the shiny gold pants. It looked better in HD, and matched the helmets. I dig the look we have going now. It's a nod to the old school style, but the shiny gold popped. They should go back to it.

Yea I was curious about this because when they had the new uniform revealing the pants where shiny gold. Then Training camp started and they weren't anymore.

TRUE STORY: jerry jones and his precious cowgirls didn't want to be "outshone" by the 49ers and complained to the league, who forced the switch to flat gold...he wanted his team to be the only one with matching shiny helmets and pants

Halloween weekend (usually right in the middle of the season as well)...where all players on every team get to "dress up" in a "costume"

Edit: Just realized as well, since it would be at the end of October, it'd give the equipment guys a buffer week to purge all the pink "breast cancer awareness" paraphernalia from the locker rooms

FUUUCK NO!
I will say this once and ONE TIME ONLY!!!

Leave our uniform the hell alone!

Just fix the stripes on the sleeves. Every player should wear a niform as Alex and Akers do with three full stripes.
Quentin stripes on the yellow pants in the red endzones!
