1994 throwback uniforms

I dont think we'll ever go back to the 94s.

I feel like if we ever get an alternate uniform itll be black. Its the color of the practice shorts, non-contact jerseys, our head coach wears a black cap & sweatshirt every day of his life..lol

I know everyone here hates the idea of black uni's, i think its a lil tacky too but lets be honest, Kap looks damn good in that all black

I agree with you on the no black jerseys. If it's not the 1994 throws or a close recreation, then I would rather just go without a third jersey. IMO, the 1994 UNIs just make too much sense not to be our thirds.

Not anymore. There's a rule in place that players can't wear different helmets, which takes away a lot of throwback uniforms

We could get away with the 94 uniforms with the current helmet, since there's really not much of a change in the helmet (it's actually been pretty consistent since the SF first appeared).

I dug out of storage a Steve Young jersey from '94 and I have a question of its authenticity. Not that I doubt it's letter of authenticity claiming Steve wore it, it's that there was only one game that featured it, according to the chart I saw herein. I looked online but could find only one other like it (says it sold for $9,500 at Goldinauctions last year) so I'm guessing this jersey was worn in the preseason? I'm lost on it, maybe you know if this jersey model
was worn in another game besides in week 2? I was given the jersey by Steve's mission brother (boyhood friend) Curt Hughes. Curt was at the game on 1-15-95 (Steve gave him midfield tickets for the NFC Championship Game), he was escorted into the locker room during the post game celebration where Steve walked him around and introduced him to each player while having them each sign a ball he carried with him. It is a very long story, actually it goes back to Pop-Warner on the East coast, but Steve takes him to his locker and pulls out and signs this jersey and gives him the ball too.



When I saw Curt last (before his dealership closed in the late 90's) I asked him to ask Steve to send me something on it and he did (or I guess his sister did) but it is not like any other kind of "certificate" I could find. It is on his embossed letterhead, but it says "letter" not "certificate" and I could not find another "Letter of Authenticity" like it anywhere. It has his office's address, phone and such on it but it's not signed by anyone?







Yes that is a coffee drip under the word "Bowl" if you saw that (sorry about this laptop picture quality, an older apple) should of had it matted, just put them in a case, then in a box, then into a storage unit. It may sit there another 15 or 20 years for all I know, but if I knew more about it maybe I could talk the wife into letting me hang it up. Again, it was a gift, from a Morman that I trust so there is no fraud in my opinion, but I can't place its game if not from week 2.


Leading me to ask,
Do you know if they wore this model in any preseason games?
Forgive me if I am not asking for help the polite way, I am new to the whole forum thing. Thanks for your time.

Definitely could have been from the preseason....team used to wear white jerseys both home and away games back then

they didn't start wearing those throw back Jersey's till like 3 or 4 games in i think...so preseason was the normal jersey with the 75 patch
