I watched that live, so brutal. I was crushed, BY is in the top of my favorite 49ers list with Rice, Young, Montana, Lott, McDonald etc. Watching the replay of that happening to someone leg just brutal.

I had almost completely blocked the memory of BY getting hurt out til now...that was an awful injury. He came back strong though and I think he won comeback player of the year.

I think he was injured in 1998, the year we lost by 2 to the Falcons in the divisional round. Imagine if we had a healthy BY and a healthy G Hearst. I think we would have beat them.

lots of other players with achilles injury has come back strong. Plus Sherman's doctor put out a whole report on how Sherman's recovery process insures a full recovery.

The thing with the achilles injury is that the other achilles usually compensates for a weaker repaired opposite leg achilles and ends up tearing too. if you can assure a 100% recovery, you can drastically mitigate that risk

it's all about rehab.

tearing the other Achilles could mean coming back to early
He will always be a legend for closing the last game the stick.
Should just retire at this point

Goddamn rights ...Legendary play , and perfect ending for the stick

I wouldn't mind having him back as a 2 down thumper , he should realize her can't be on the field for those 3rd and longs anymore , he's not the Bowman of yesteryear
Sign him and then draft Roq. Smith
I hate you Reuben Oster
You know, willis and bowman would've been only 29 and 33 respectively if only they stayed healthy.

Yeah. I wanted him to stay but since he's gone it is time to move on.
I'd be down for bringing Bowman back to fill up some snaps, play 1st and 2nd down and then hit the sidelines. Considering whats out there in FA, Bowman + one or two rookie LBs to go along with Coyle and Malcolm Smith doesn't sound so bad.
