I watched that live, so brutal. I was crushed, BY is in the top of my favorite 49ers list with Rice, Young, Montana, Lott, McDonald etc. Watching the replay of that happening to someone leg

lots of other players with achilles injury has come back strong. Plus Sherman's doctor put out a whole report on how Sherman's recovery process insures a full recovery.
The thing with the achilles injury is that the other achilles usually compensates for a weaker repaired opposite leg achilles and ends up tearing too. if you can assure a 100% recovery, you can drastically mitigate that risk
