Frank Gore's 3 years 12m and 6.5 guaranteed was too expensive?

makes sense

It makes sense to me. Gore ( although I loved Gore) was aging and we were sitting at a complete different salary cap
situation. This is a good signing.
Dam Baalke. Slow down before we run out of salary cap space.

Just needs a poll to be considered complete.

They spent as much trying to replace Gore's production with 8 different guys lol.

$5m guaranteed is a good idea based on what? His 27 career catches and 3td? Or is NC going to show up and say Celek is the 2nd best blocking TE in the league?
Meh. Not even close to Delanie.

Yeah gore looked like he was worth it this past season

saying I would have offered Gore a legit contract and tried to get him to split carries with Hyde.

Did Gore get injured ? Did he not have more production than the 8 scrubs they signed ?

Now back to Celek. It's an ok deal but the money doesn't match the production. Hope he plays well and earns it.

Yeah gore had one of his worst seasons as a pro and avg only 3.7 yards per carry...BIG difference in giving that guaranteed cash to a 27 year old and a 32 year old with over 2,700 carries lol.

If anything he should have stayed here for less money after all the cash SF gave him especially in his last season with us ($6.5 million at age 30)

Yeah. He's better then Vance McDrop but not a top tier tight end by any means. I expect to draft another tight end in earlier rounds.

Baalke's inability to fill the TE position despite numerous attempts is frustrating.

FO didn't even talk to him about an extension. Treating loyal players like that is how we roll.

I love Gore for what he meant to the organization, but he would have had a terrible year last year if he was on the 49ers.

No one was going to look good with that O-line. If TPTB see something in Celek hopefully that turns out to be true. I won't pretend to be an expert on that.
Doesn't bother me but I just wish Baalke paid delanie

Its five mill guaranteed yes. When is that going to be paid out....whats the salary cap hit for this year. I doubt its all five at once but yes thats not an outrageous number. Vanc is making 2mil this year guaranteed. Did you all know Blake Bell was making more than Celek.

Blake Total Guaranteed for contract $505,132
Celek Total Guaranteed for contract $25,000 (before this contract signed)

and just for s**ts....

Vance Total Guaranteed for current contract $1,921,183

$3.5 average per seems like a lot for what little he's done in the league. I prefer his brother Tom.
