If Hunter was going to be good.he would've been by now...James seems to have more potential...And neither will approach Gore.

LOL.
Hunter averaged 5.2 YPC last year compared to Gore's 4.7.
What qualifies someone as good to you?

I think you might be selling Hunter a bit short. I believe he is good and has shown it. I agree with you for the most part though. Neither backs are every down backs and certainly neither back will ever approach Gore!!!

anyone seen the video on L'Von Bell, i know we have alot of RB depth but with our o-line and Gore again this guy could be a stud, we need a bruising back to pair with the quick speed and bursts of james and hunter I say if hes available in the 3rd take him!!! check out his video stiff arming people, hurdling over a standing cornerback, power inside, speed to get to the outside impressive

I think he would be a good eventual replacement for Gore, but it may be to soon to be looking for a replacement while we still have 3 or 4 good/great backs. We are set a running back for a couple more years imo.
Hunter as the backup, with James being used all over the field.

Hands-down Hunter. Not even close.
That said, how great it is for JH/Roman to have a running stable to creatr all sorts of plays with.
Add to that, is a guy nobody talks about that may prove to be a real gem [pun intended] Jewel Hampton.
With all these RB in-house the ONLY draft move I think we should consider is Lattimore. And ONLY if there is nobody else who we could get that would be a difference maker right away.

I was gonna say that Hunter shouldn't lose his backup spot behind Gore due to an injury but look what happened to Alex Smith. He went from a starter to the bench and now traded to the Chiefs.

Hunter and La'Mike will rotate, with Hunter getting a few more touches, no reason not to get them on the field together. Hunter is a more complete back at this stage, but I look forward the seeing how much La'Mike has matured this off season.

Yeah they will rotate Hunter and LMJ but I think it would be interesting to see both of them in the backfield at the same time with LMJ going in motion to the slot. This offense is going to be lethal if they can stay healthy.

I think so too, that guy is freakin dangerous with screen passes. I can't remember which game it was but as soon as he caught that screen he was gone for 10-15 yards, don't know why Roman abandon it this season.

Hunter will have 1000+ combined yards this year, mark that down.

They could and should both get more reps. Frank is still the guy on this team but he will need more and more spelling. Likely we will see the two become a dual threat and we will seek to add a short yardage pounder. Of course you might just get that out of using Miller more in short yardage situations.

They both missed games in college with injuries, so I think we need them both. Right now I would start Hunter because he is bigger and a little more physical. He is also better around the outside and on swing passes. I like LaMichael up the middle and can't wait for him to break a long td run. If he gets his punt returns down ( He just started doing punt returns his senior year in college ) it would fill the roster out nicely with him behind Hunter.
