I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we will be able to sign all those guys. I think one of them will walk. My bet is Crabs.

I think we will be able to get Crab signed. We're winning, we're going into a new stadium in 2014, and we have a potential star at QB. Unlike Goldson, Crab will be in his prime during his next contract and I expect us to be more aggressive in retaining him.

Kaep is a big part of this because Crab will know that he will play majority of his career with him if he stays with the Niners. IMO, we will get all 4 (Crab, Kaep, Iupati, and Aldon) signed. We have the money...new stadium, great coaches, winning formula and you can't beat the weather here. It will be tough to leave all that for players who are already on a pretty good rookie contract (except Kaep).

Does anyone know if the extension creates cap space this year?
Great deal by the front office!

I have no idea but my guess is that he's still playing under the terms of his rookie deal and the new deal picks up right at the end of his current deal.

That remains to be seen.

because of the text on the zone... I thought he was called Lupati till like a week before the draft
Very happy about this. Just want Iupati locked up. I would've though it would've happened the other way around timing wise.
We get to enjoy his twitter fueds until 2020! Lol

I remember when we drafted him, Roger Goodell butchered his name, to the point that I was like.... WTF!!?!?! who did we just draft? Oh... Nice!
Our front office loves a big, mean nasty line and the running game. Which translates to us spending money on it. The odd man out will be Crabtree. Lets pray Jenkins can step up and lessen the blow.

Not really. We have $26M in cap room next off-season. Unless we go on a spending spree next off-season before extending our guys, we will have PLENTY of cap space to keep those 4.

Having a solid passing game is pretty important as well. I don't see how we let our 1 good WR leave? He will be franchised if he doesn't resign.
Front office has done an amazing job hanging on to our own stars. Real happy with this.
I'm guessing this extension frees up some salary cap space this year to sign the rookie class.
