I wonder if Morris ever worked out at SMAC............that's badass gym, really claustrophobic and hopefully you've gotten your tetanus shot before going in there but that place has created some real beasts.

Interesting point about Morris: Texas State played Louisina Tech this year. Not sure how to see that game, but good chance he covered Quinton Patton. Wasn't a terrible game for Patton, but was one of his weaker ones. ~80 yards and no TDs I believe. Could be where the team noticed this kid

He didn't cover Patton much if at all from what I remember. That was not a brag-worthy game for anyone from either of the defense's, the two teams combined for over 100 points and like 5000 yards of offense.

Thiis kid's got some talents that just can't be coached: speed and quickness. And a great jump reach of 36".
With Reid having a 40" jump reach, and this guy, suddenly those "jump ball" passes/hail marys will not be so easy to complete.

Just watched the whole video, and am I really think we found a real diamond in the rough. He fits this D. FAST AS FUKK!!! Extremely good defending the deep ball, it looks as if he's mastered an over-the-top style of batting balls down. Very tough and don't mind laying a lick. I have to say that with this guy and Marcus Cooper in camp Parrish Cox and Tramaine Brock could be in serious - serious - trouble.

He may have been a priority free agent for us being that we gave him the highest signing bonus of all udfas, 8, 000. Him and the other corner got the same

Exactly...perfect slot CB to cover the likes of Harvin and Austin. Very very quick AND fast and what I like most about him is his decisiveness...he does NOT hesitate the second he diagnoses a play and he appears to thrive on contact/hitting through the WR's.

Maiocco was asked this question recently:
"I've heard a lot about Patton at WR. But I'd like to get some feedback on how prepared he actually is. Route Running, etc. (Daniel McGunnigle)"
Maiocco: "Based on one two-hour practice, the thing that he most needs to improve -- aside from just learning the system -- is his route-running. What makes Michael Crabtree so successful is that every route looks the same at the beginning. Crabtree is able to get deep because, for instance, a slant-and-go looks just like a slant until he turns it upfield. He does not tip anything at the top of a route. Patton looked predictable Friday, and on a couple of deep routes, undrafted rookie cornerback Darryl Morris had no problem keeping up with him."
Thought it's interesting that Morris is still being ignored... plays written off as bad by Patton. Soon people will start to notice the young CB I'm hoping

He seems to run the routes better than the WR's with good anticipation and instincts. Speed is definitely there.
