Taylor Price ‏@TaylorPrice49 12m Jim Harbaugh at start of Niners rookie camp: "A journey of a thousand steps starts with the first step."

Jimbo kind of butchered that quote....

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu. Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)

He didn't butcher it, he just Harbaughd it.
Joe Looney is a bad, bad man...you're looking at our next C, IMHO. I think he has the strength, intelligence and attitude to be like Newberry in his prime. As for the rookies, I'm excited about Dial...another big dude who plays w/attitude. We all know what Tank and even Lemonier can do, but Dial hasn't had the exposure they have. I'll bet Tomsula's anxious to really coach him up.

Uhh...that does not look like a stretched neck. It looks like you literally gave him a dick for a neck.

Yeah, it does look like a dick.

Or a Geoduck . . . appropriate for Seattle
Just was watching NFL Total Access... Lawrence Okoye is HUUUUUGE on the field
Eric Branch ‏@Eric_Branch

One more Lawrence Okoye note: He's in discus shape. Was noticeably gassed during latter stages of practice. #49ers
Eric Branch ‏@Eric_Branch

Practice observation: Don't know if Lawrence Okoye can play football, but he can throw a medicine ball 1.23 miles. #49ers

#49ers practice: TE Vance McDonald had sticky hands; WR Quinton Patton was shifty; UDFA WR Chuck Jacobs worth keeping eye on. #49ers
Chuck Jacobs
School: Utah State
Position: WR
Height: 5-11.5
Weight: 177
40: 4.45

From Richmond, Calif. (Kennedy HS/Laney JC)

* ranks third in the WAC and 40th in the nation in kick returns (24.5 ypr), and ninth in the WAC in all-purpose yards (89.4 ypg). On the season, he has 36 receptions for 550 yards with five touchdowns to rank tied for first on the team

Positive: Athletic receiver with a developing game. Consistently finds the open space in the defense, fights to make receptions, and catches the ball with his hands. Nicely adjusts to errant throws, reaching back to grab the pass. Makes receptions in stride and displays good hand/eye coordination.

Negative: Undersized and struggles in battles. Despite his 40 time, plays as a one-speed receiver and lacks a deep burst.

Analysis: Jacobs significantly improved the past two seasons and is a practice-squad prospect who could eventually find his way onto an NFL roster as a fifth receiver.

NICE! Okoye looks huge!
Taylor Price ‏@TaylorPrice49

At his first 49ers practice, Lawrence Okoye learned not to say "pitch," plus how to spray water through a face-mask. http://bit.ly/17Sy9Vs
Here are some tweets from camp

#49ers rookie practice review: Quinton Patton awesome WR/PR; tryout WR/PR Brandon Carswell smooth; @Okoye learning lot; Eric Reid plays big

The biggest standout today was Vance McDonald in rookie Minicamp. I thought he looked impressive during 11 vs 11 and 7 vs 7 drills. #49ers

Out of the undrafted free agents, WR Chuck Jacobs stood out the most. He was beating DBs in one on one drills. #49ers

Quinton Patton is the other WR who stood out today. He showed some signs of looking like a deep threat. #49ers

Quinton Patton won the practice, or so it seemed as the 49ers allowed the media to watch Friday's afternoon session in its entirety to cap the first day of rookie minicamp.

Patton, a fourth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech, showed great speed and swift hands as a wide receiver and punt returner.

Safety Eric Reid, the 49ers' No. 1 draft pick, sure looks like he can pack a wallop in his 6-1, 213-pound body, even though there were no contact drills.

--Safety Eric Reid looks the part. He looked just fine in a couple coverage situations in one-on-one drills.
