This loss falls on more than just the DC, no question. Inexperience signal callers in the ILB group, injuries, short week, our #1 corner coming back from not playing for 5 weeks, Peyton Manning. Yeah. Idk what it is about Sunday nights.

Like Marvin said, the *perfect* storm for our defense. Nothing could be done about it, just do your best. Personally, I thought Colin played as well as can be - against that defense. The Wr's and the TE's didn't. The O Line didn't and also we lost Kilgore in the 3rd. When your offense can't keep up with their offense, forget a win, specially as you said, with all our defensive injuries and a short week. I keep forgetting we had a short week and we had to travel to Denver. Oh, that's another one, Denver had home field advantage too.

I think may have been bigger than some realized. Like I said, no "broken plays" seemed to stand out in my mind off hand BUT we may have had to go vanilla here as a result of Wilhoite calling the adjustments. It shouldn't change the defensive calls in but still...Manning is an audible freak!

The Anquan drop, and the missed field goal were mistakes that really made us one dimensional at the half, and once that happened - with a QB like that, it's tough to come out of that with a win. You don't stop a Peyton Manning offense, you just hope to slow it down.
Your quote was talking about press coverage.

Oh you mean it could have been worst? LOL, nothing could have been worst then last night...looked like the Raiders, lol. I don't know about you, but if I am going to lose, I'd rather go out swinging and trying to win, rather then play to not lose by too much.

Fangio had a bad game. The defense had a bad game.
But, this was only one game in a 16 game season.
Where we are at after 16 games it what really counts.
Fangio has done a pretty good job so far in his time with the 49ers.
Agreed x5! The good news is we don't play another "timing offense" with a good veteran QB at the helm like this again, until, say, the Gianats (new WCO) and the Chargers?
I still like Fangio. But what scares me is the possibility of facing the Broncos in the Superbowl.

Generally when Seadderall plays press, they are blitzing a DB or Safety somewhere.

As I said a couple of posts before, Dial & Tank <<<<<< then Borland as a replacement any day of the week. Fangio should have switched to a 4-3 instead to get a bigger push up the middle instead rather then inserting yet ANOTHER newbie at LB, Just goes to show you that as good as Fangio is, he's just as stubborn and inflexible as Roman sometimes. His D scheme is to play sound, disciplined D with super stars making big plays. Well, you can't do that with 3 inexperienced LBs that aren't sure of what they're doing in coverage and aren't quite as good as the ones they are replacing. This article confirms what I said about having a short, slow overrated 3rd rounder replacing Willis and hoping to make the scheme work. It's easier to insert two young DT-DE types to pass rushing then newbie LBs trying outsmart Manning.

The teams that played us early all caught a break. that's just what it boils down to. on both sides of the ball we haven't been healthy and especially on defense.
when the health returns people are going to be thanking the heaven above they played us these 1st 7 games
and the ones that play us after the bye including the cards and the rams are going to wish they could go back and play the team they played the 1st time around.
nothing to worry about. no other team is going to have multiple all pro and pro bowl players come back.
these other teams are already at the best they could be.

R.E.L.A.X....Haha. .Actually the way Fangio changed up against the Rams the prev week I think that they just didn't give a shat to do much of anything much less out of the box with Denver. They couldn't possibly be stupid enough to believe playing straight up D with these replacements would be anything else but a slaughter,or could they be????????????????????????????????????Thought that you want to win games sooooo the only play here was the psycho D.

On a fun note, the Chargers play Denver on Thursday Night Football. They are down 3 CB's. Anyone going to watch how they play Denver...any guesses how they'll play them?

Probably man considering they can actually get to the quarterback.

I love Fangio...just not in this poor game plan. It happens. He's stubborn BUT he does seem to learn from his mistakes so I hope he learns a ton this game (cough, watch defensive alignments of teams who have beaten Manning over the past 20 years, cough).

Well through 7 games, they do have 15 sacks so I guess that means they have a good pass rush...we only have 12.
Should be fun to watch and see how they play them defensively since they know them so much better than we do.
