Classic Alex Smith.

I found it amusing that his first completion to Fasano looked exactly like Kap's one pass completion to VD against the Broncos. Same roll out to the right and everything.

Go, Niners, go!
It's not going to be as big as people are going to make it.

If this was preseason game 3....

I thought the game film reviews said that on that play there was coverage deep. *Shrug* In any case, that was his only incompletion on the day, as he led his team for a TD drive on their first possession.

I think Smith really helps that Chiefs team.

The Chiefs had Derrick Thomas terrorizing Young in that game. One of Young's toughest performance. And he gained my total respect from then on even though Montana won the game. I became more of a Young fan than a Montana fan at that point. I remember he looked exhausted after the game and still have classy comments regarding the game to the media. He was fighting the Montana shadow, the Niners fans, the media, and the monkey on his back.

He could have tried to go deep like McCoy did with Jenkins. AJ was wide open. Safety who!
I feel like the 49ers have never won in arrowhead

He also had a defensive lineman/LB on a direct line between himself and the potential receiver. The receiver was open but when there is no throwing lane it doesn't matter that he is open. Also, if you go back and look, the NO CB was closing from the outside. The pass would have had to have been made in a split second between the trailing defender and the closing CB. By the time Smith cleared the DL, the CB had closed the window.

Classic Alex Smith. He avoided the sack, and a potential pick, and went to drive his team down and scored a touchdown.
