our worst concern after tonight is Special teams...
That's my only concern, really.
In reviewing the game, I remain concerned about WR. The final pass to Jacobs to "win" the game was as much a result of the 3rd string defensive back losing position and balance as it was a good throw/catch by the 49ers. Aside from that, the passing game continues very anemic. We just do not have players that can get open/separation.
The major part of training camp is now over. From here on it is more about polishing the apple. The time to grow apples has passed. I don't see answers. Yes, when Kaepernick is throwing the ball it will be better. That we know. We also know that Boldin is reliable. However, after that we hope that Kyle Williams will become more than he has ever shown to this point. We hope that Manningham will return healthy enough to contribute (I am not a fan). After that we have a bunch of cast offs and the hope the AJ will show up. (he did make one decent play last night but only one)
So yes, STs are an obvious problem, but so is the passing game.
And then there are the penalties.
