Aldon is going to be matched up against a rookie. If Rodgers isn't running for his life the whole game I'll be disappointed

I think we win and I think we build and grow as a team throughout the regular season heading into the playoffs. This year I believe it is us that will be our hottest come playoff time so long as we keep Kap upright
A little off-topic, my season prediction is that the 49ers go 11-5, first place in the division, and are Superbowl champions. (BTW, second place in the West goes to the overhyped Seahawks who get off to a slow start (1-3), finish 9-7, and miss the wildcard).
Some of us (myself included) also think they will begin the season 0-2 and could start off 0-4 or 1-3. They're o-line doesn't even look very good on paper... lucky to have a mobile QB. The front seven won't be in full force for quite some time and the secondary was exposed in some games especially against Falcons in the playoffs--teams will figure out that equation...

Establishing the run with Lacy gives the Packers a chance to win the game. This Niners defense thrives on one dimensional passing offense. Trying to pass the ball with no running game and a weaken offensive line because of injury. And a loss of WR Jennings.... Fangio will have the pass rushers buzzing. And there are more questions regarding the Packers weak defense...How much have they improve through 1 offseason...
I don't see how the Packers can win this game.

Yes, 0-2 start for Seattle. Could their fans handle that or would they spontaneously combust?

Indeed, my man, indeed. That obnoxious crowd will lose their minds/voices after the beat down on their own yard in week 2. Oooh, the gnashing of teeth and desperate cries for help. Many will be committing suicide and plenty of straight jackets will be needed

I don't see how the Packers can win this game.
I keep thinking that and then I have to remind myself that this is the NFL and their QB is Aaron Rodgers. But, the truth is that I'll be surprised if the Niners don't win and win convincingly. I don't see how the Packers defense that gave up over 500 yards and 45 points is any better. And, I don't see how they can score 31 points again without a pick 6 and against a Niner defense that has its front healthy again.

omg, less than a week away! I'll be going away on vacation to the UP (Upper Peninsula of Michigan), but I'll find a sports bar in that vast wilderness to watch the game.

Well, I think the Packers defense has improved from last year, but they still are not even close to being a top tier defense.
Our offense will shock a lot of people. I don't think people realize how good Kaepernick is. He is very, very special. He reminds me of Brett Favre (arm) and Randall Cunningham (build and running style) combined into one single player. He also makes good decisions. We are very lucky to have him and he will help make our offense a top-5 offense.

Kap's a bit too young to remember much of Randle. Im a year older than Kap and I just remember Randle's Viking days when he wasn't much of a runner anymore.

Right. They lost their best lineman to injury. Jordy Nelson is probably not going to be ready and if he plays, he won't be at 100%. I think Randal Cobb is also nursing an injury. They still have a suspect defense. One of their starters in the secondary is out nursing a hamstring and they've got a rookie 5th round pick starting back there. Their new ILB, Brad Jones is going to have a very hard time with Davis and McDonald. He gives up 3 inches and 30 lbs with McDonald and McDonald runs the same 40 time. And forget it if he gets singled up on Davis - he has absolutely no chance of running with Vernon Davis.

Kap mentioned Randall by name in an interview as one of his influences. He said Vick, McNabb and Cunningham specifically unless senility has already set in with me. Then later he said he idolized Favre. I wondered as well why he mentioned Cunningham knowing his age and mine (36). I was like whoa dad have VCR or something or just a student of the gameOriginally posted by DonnieDarko:Kap's a bit too young to remember much of Randle.
