Coach just said in re guards to the packers talking. it sounds like targeting like happened a few years ago. a saints reference. You know those comments are going to make the refs look really hard at every hit on kap.

Yeah, my biggest fear is that these DE's start diving at Kaep's legs! Hit him all day long..... He is almost as big as an OLB! His upper body can handle those chips, but his legs will be susceptible to low cheap shots!!
Kaps legs are just as strong as any QB in this league. Any QB is susceptible to lower leg injury and this is why they are afforded protection. Like I said if GB tries this I want to see us take our shots and I bet it ends ugly for GB. Kap is smart and mobile with great athletic instincts. He will protect himself and he has a callous to hitting if it occurs. He just looks frail but he is very huge. Rodgers behind that line is the one to be worried about
Every DLine/pass rusher/defense is out to get the opposing QB. Just because they keep saying/repeating it doesn't make it easier or harder.

If we are just concerned about players talking, then next week is going to get brutal.

No offense, but I am guessing you havent watched him at all this preseason? Its very possible Smith will have a good game, he's a good player who can have a great game against even the best T, but you are quoting a scouting report, so pardon me if I ignore any comment on your knowledge of our new LT.

You mean rookie David Bakhtiari, the lineman most scouts thought was undersized and too short armed to play left tackle? That David Bakhtiari? I'm sure you've been watching him do fine in preseason, but maybe you haven't heard - one doesn't have to be a short-armed, undersized rookie to see going against Justin Smith and Aldon Smith as a formidable challenge in the NFL. Those two made quite a few veterans look bad last year when they were healthy. I'm going to assume Bakhtiari is a standard NFL competitor and looking forward to the challenge, but my guess is that the Niners get a few sacks from that side and I'm also guessing the 299 lb. Bakhtiari is not going to be moving Justin Smith out of the hole on running plays. Bakhtiari has two fundamental problems over there: 1. he is simply not big enough to deal with Justin Smith - Justin Smith as bull-rushed and pancaked guys who way 40 lbs more than Bakhtiari. and, 2. he is simply not quick enough or long-armed enough to deal with Aldon Smith's pass rushing skills.

Hey, I could easily be wrong about this, but to me, this looks like one of the real problems for the Packers this Sunday.
Hey Clay Matthews! Have you ever seen a game plan that says DON'T hit the quarterback?

i'm confident but still nervous at the same time. first week is always nerve wrecking

Hey bro. You've got me beat so prognosticate away. I'm listening.

Thanks Pillbusta :) But there are a ton of people on this board that beat me. Like Marvin for instance. I'm more a stats guy instead of schema/formations. But if you look at the last game, it really wasn't close. GB was down 21 with < a minute left to play. Both Cowboy and Aldon were injured. Niners had almost double the TOP. Colin threw for more yards, high a higher average per attempt, 2 TDs 1 pick (just like Rodgers) and a higher QBR rating.

Everyone knows Aaron is a fantastic QB. He's one, if not the best, right now. But as a total team, Niners are better.
With all the focus they have on Kap we would be crazy not to up gut run all game. Due to the fact the ends will be froze watching kap all day. We can gut them up the middle for 300 yards. What do you guys think.
When I look at this game, I want to be confident, but you just never know and especially when facing a QB like Rodgers. But, the truth is that I really don't see the Packers defense stopping the Niners offense. The Niners dropped 575 yards and 45 points on them the last time. I don't see Kaepernick making some of the mistakes he did last year. I see Kaepernick throwing to a lot more targets than he did the last time. The Packers are going to be without their starting slot corner. Their inside linebackers are still too slow to cover Vernon Davis and too small to deal with Vance McDonald. The Packers front seven is going to have the same problems dealing with that Niner O-line. And, on the other side, the Niner defense is a lot healthier than it was the last time they played. A healthy Justin Smith and a surprising Ian Williams looks pretty hard for the Packers to run on. Nnamdi might actually be an upgrade from Culliver - we'll see. And, I just don't see that rookie left tackle who wasn't even supposed to be a left tackle having an easy time with Aldon Smith.
Gore will break 300 yards rushing
Packers are still f**king ignorant, along with Don Capers. -I remember on NFL Films replays during that entire playoff game their coaching staff shouting at their D on the bench, "HE'S NOT A POCKET QB, FORCE HIM TO THROW IT!", hahaha.
With the Packers, I think the best running strategy is off tackle as opposed to right up the middle. Their best D-lineman is that NT. Of course, the Niner center and Iupati could probably move a Sherman tank out of there if they want to, so maybe up the gut works too.
I think either off tackle or gut will work and after we're up 150 yards rushing they will abandon there game plan of spying kap and that's when kap pulls the keeper on them for 80 yards
