I actually think the seahawks win this one, here's 5 reasons why
1. Russell Wilson, he is the best player on the field, enough said on that. He has two years under his belt and he will do everything possible to win
2. Offensive line, they average a weight a 320 across the line: Okung, Riva, Unger, Breno, Ossai. These guys have an attitude and are ready to rumble.
3. Dan Quinn, new defensive scheme and a new attitude. Many players have spoken about the difference of Bradley and Quinn, you will see a much improved seahawks defense on sunday.
4. Speed, speed, speed. This is the fastest seahawks team in a while. Miller, Tate, Boldin, Harvin, Kearse. The newbies will be inexperienced but will provide a new dimension the seahawks haven't had, speed.
5. Time of possession: I think the seahawks could dominate the TIP stat in this one, the more the seahawks hold the ball and keep their defense fresh the better change they have to win.
I think the seahawks win rather easily...say 34-17?

cant believe he used speed and zach miller in the same sentence

I'd like to see Vernon Davis blind side Richard Sherman or Kam Chancellor like this. Seattle fans always brag about that hit Chancellor had on Vernon, while Vernon was jumping up for a ball and couldn't protect himself. I'd like to see him do that when Vernon has a full head of steam.

That's a rarity. Vernon doesn't light people up. It will be a higher probably that Vernon hits him with his chest and hugs him to seal the block.

I think I may agree with you if you had said he may jump over him...to block.

Vernon doesn't light people up with the ball in his hands, but he can definitely blind side people on a block as you can see in this video. Really anyone can. That's why it's funny that Seattle always brags about that hit Chancellor had on Vernon when he was jumping for the ball and couldn't protect himself. Anyways, I wish Vernon would use his power and upper body strength and truck some fools, but I guess that's not his game. I just want to see him blindside block the f**k outta sherman or Chancellor... or see Vance Mcdonald run over Sherman again.

Most of all I want the f**king W tho
I think this game will be won by the best defense and which ever team turns the ball over the least. I can agree that Kap needs to be like Alex in one regard and that is not to turn the ball over and spot SEA easy scoring opportunities. Our defense handled SEA rather well considering all of the offensive miscues and we do it without selling out by stacking the box simply because we don't have to. We play what we play and we make Wilson beat a balanced defense filled with elite defensive players. I like our chances but I am discouraged by possibly having Iupati and Staley sit this one out. Niners 23-19.

Edit: I just saw Valrod's post. Maybe we won't lose Staley. What a tough SOB!

Somewhat surprising news: Joe Staley back at practice today and looked rather spry.
i dont think players hate rivals like die hard fans do. they realize its just a game far better than fans who have decades of allegiance built up for their team. they wouldnt shake hands after the fact if they truly hated them,
Outside of some personal battles our WRs have had with their DBs or our DL/LBs have had against some of their O-line (i.e. Giacomini) no, they don't. A lot of them are friends before and after the game.
Honestly, my 49ers fandome went back to 84 and I cannot remember this much hate for one team. There was some for LA Rams but not this much.

So hate SEA.

I don't hate either although I thought yesterdays media session with Seattle media both of your guys looked like douches to be honest. I hate to say that but there were a ton of one word answers and rude responses from both guys. Carroll and Wilson were the exact opposite and are always gracious to the media. But I would be lying if I said I didn't like it. Its part of what makes our rivalry so great. Two different approaches. Sunday will be fun and I think both teams come to play.

Again Chancellor didn't cheapshot him. He did what every player is tought to do when a guy catches the ball. It was a great hit. If one of your guys hit our guy like that you would be saying the same thing. I havent seen a mean or nasty streak out of Davis. Does he run people over or play real physical? I thought the knock on him was that he doesn't. Again hes great, not saying that. Gore on the other hand plays very physical. Love watching him run.

When did I say Chancellor's hit was a cheap shot? lol. I was simply suggesting it wasn't as impressive as Seattle makes it, considering Vernon was going up for the ball and couldn't protect himself. It's dumb for Seattle fans to brag about that hit so much. Vernon was hung out to dry by Kap on that play. An impressive hit is when both players are going heads up and one guy gets smacked . See Ronnie Lott vs Ickey Woods.

I wouldnt say you handled the offense rather easily. They had 29 with a ton of time to spare and could of scored more and that was without Okung who went out very early in the game. I think to beat the Seahawks you have to control Wilson. Seahawks have shown they can win when you focus soley on Lynch...See the N.O game. Wilson torched them when they stacked the box.

EVERYONE around the league is tired of Harbaughs antics and crappy attitude. Its not only Seahawks fans.

Could this be any more transparent?

.......
Harbaugh is Harbaugh, never has trusted the media. I imagine he has his reasons.

Kap was great with the media in college. In Reno, he was a great interview. Then he got exposed to "Gotcha - big city media".

Right off the bat, some journalist assumed Kap's tats were gang related then went off about he needs to look more like a CEO representing his team. Ignorant that none of the tats are gang, many are from the bible and all are deeply personal and very moving/inspirational to Kap. Then Nancy Gay, a fabulous sports reporter here, decides she will be the grand uniter between Kap and his biological mother (who had nothing to do with him until he got famous), which Kap wanted nothing to do with.

We'll just have to learn to live with EVERYONE'S weariness.

Are you guys accounting for the pressure they will bring?

I don't think they double ANYONE. They bring the pressure and force our WR's and Kap to be making plays in under 2 seconds. This will benefit SEA in two areas, stopping GORE and forcing Kap and his targets to get open fast!

If SEA does this, I think Kap may struggle...unless he lets that ball rips and our WR's make tough catches with DB's on them.

This is what Boldin and Crabtree do best!

Yes they do but will they begin their break in that time and will Kap wait to throw it or anticipate? If he waits, then the pressure will get to him.

That is why we MUST have SEA Frank to show up. Not very many teams get SEA out of their attacking style of defense. We MUST force them to play us, not force us to play them.
