I looked at the list of 49er HOF plaers and some list players like Deion, Ricky Jackson, Chris Doleman and OJ Simpson. Those guys are all HOF players but not as 49ers. You can't spend one or two seasons with a team and be considered a HOF player for that team. Sorry but that's not right.
Willis is a true 49er and one of a few players that spent his entire career as a Niner.
Players used to go into the HOF under their main team, but that changed. Now they just go in, and all of their teams are listed. It makes more sense that way, since it's a HOF "career".
Really happy that Pat got in. Well deserved. Imo he played the position of MLB at a higher level than anyone I've seen (late 80s till now) - you can certainly make the case for Ray as well but imo Pat was the best of modern day MLB who are asked to do way more.
If not for injuries - had he played 10 years - he'd be first ballot. He was the best LB in the NFL for 5-6 straight years.
Love it, I am glad he finally got his spot in Canton. Him and Gore were the only bright spots in the late 2000's. Wished he could have played longer, but I respect his reasons for leaving the game when he did.
