Willis is my hero. I pray he stays a Niner for life. He still has plent of football left and what he eventually loses in speed he'll pick up in wisdom.

Willis doesn't even get the respect he deserves from 49er fans anymore. Theyve all become fascinated with Bowman and acted like Willis is old news. Its very disappointing from some of our fans who dont know the roles of each MLB job.

Gather our entire corps of LB, and Willis is still the best tackler, and the best in coverage of all of them.

Not to mention his classy attitude and team leadership.

Getting rid of him would be idiotic.

what should be making other teams afraid is the fact that he hasn't been as fast as he could have been by playing through the toe injury the past 2 seasons.

no, they got fascinated with borland which made willis expendable .. remember when our players got hurt,, they were automatically washed up and a bum . you knew when the post began with " it is clear willis no longer has it", it is clear gore has lost it.. you knew it was time to break out the advil

Willis played at a high level with this toe injury for the last couple of seasons. I have no reason to think he wont be better now that it is repaired.

exactly
and esp if justin does hang it up,,,, he and bowman will become the true heart and soul of the defense and quite possibly the team as a whole,,, of course some fans are hoping the players quit on the new coach but thats a whole other story

This! I found it almost laughable when people said Borland could replace Willis. I like the kid but when compared to Willis and Bowman it's not even close.
freaking love P-52
Best tackler in NFL? And we dumping him? Is York posting this?
We are going to see an improved Willis this upcoming year. His speed and explosiveness will be back and the league is going to be talking about him as the best linebacker in the game again. He has still been a beast the last three years or so, despite dealing with that toe injury. I expect him, Bowman, and Aldon to be dominant this upcoming year. I actually think our defense is going to be improved and one of the elite. I see Tomsula similar to Carroll in that he's a rah rah defensive guy that the players love to play for. Except Tomsula isn't a lesbian cheerleader that chews on HGH laced bubble gum. Then I think Mangini's profound knowledge of the game will finally translate to coaching success as our defensive coordinator because he has all the talent in the world at his disposal on defense.
Its gonna be interesting, he says that toe has been bad for several years. If he feels no pain and is truly healthy, I see big things for Pat. He is only 30 and for a linebacker he has at least 5 good seasons left.

and bowman is back, borland is a year older and smarter, jesus what is there not to like? i am just sad to think some good plays like skuta may not make it with the emergence of the two kids last year. you know that we will find a gem of a linebacker in the draft ,, we always do that
This man is a 49er. Anyone who says he should be traded is nuts. No way in hell they trade him. Admittedly we questioned that he lost half a step the past two years, now we know why. He will be back with a vengeance this season.

Anyone who thinks Borland should start over him is insane.
15 pages? Pathetic. Dude deserves so much more love from 49er fans.
