Or do you think he was more or less the same monster from rookie year up to 2010/2011 or so?

I'd say the first 4 seasons, where he was getting sacks, interceptions and really dominating...the last 3 or 4 haven't been as spectacular

I am against retiring Jerseys. What I would do instead of retire jerseys is have a jersey banner ring of honor instead of not using a particular jersey. I ope the 49ers use 21,52,94,76,,80,79,16,8 those are all legends but why run out of numbers? BTW Willis should pay back what he owes.

disagree,, willis can do whatever he wants and we are the ones who owe him so much over the years. borland is a different matter,, in response to a poster i thought patrick was patrick until last year,, and then i was in denial because i did not want to admit his game, for whatever reason, was off. we now know why and i am glad he retired when he did, at his choosing. would have been awful to see him be like the others who stayed to long and were a disgrace in their last year, willie mays, johnny unitas, roger craig, tony dorsett, franco harris etc etc

I believe a lot of the posts against former players will cease once the regular season starts or maybe even in training camp. Lots to be excited about in a couple weeks
