Badass
Gone too soon.
I watched him play someone on a Madden live stream on IG the other day. Terrible on offense, but he played D exactly how you would expect. He was ahead of the ball on every play. He was also getting ultra competitive about it. He got into it like he was playing for real. lol

lol he had like 6 user picks. Definitely still has those sharp reflexes. I could tell he misses competing. I asked him on the chat if he'd consider becoming a LB coach, and he smiled and said "You never know..." It would be awesome to see him in the Mike Singletary role as a Niner LB coach.

Willis and Warner are pretty close - I'm not complaining.

They are not lol

They def are not.

Don't get me wrong, i love Warner.

But Willis was in a league of his own.

I wouldn't take any other LB'er in his prime over Willis, he's my favorite 49er of the last decade, I miss him, I wish he didn't retire, same with Borland, but we're in good hands with Warner, Kwon, and Dre at LB.

Leonard imo is as good as Willis I never thought I'd say that but he may be the best LB I've ever seen. His stats are f**king phenomenal.

If we're talking 49er LB's all time, Willis wins by a mile for me.

But Leonard is a beast from what i have seen from him, but i'm bias and Willis is my all time favorite player so of course i'm going to take him over any other LB.

Willis didn't make top 15 HOF finalist cut this year.

But Sam Mills did...

Sam Mills should be a HOF. Willis might get in one day, but a shortened career and no SB or DPOY gonna make it tough
He should've been in last year

Sam Mills had one career 1st team All-Pro selection. He wasn't near the 'standard of the era' LB that Willis was.

The shortened career knock should now be less relevant than ever with Terrell Davis being elected with less than 5 seasons worth of career games.

Considering there wasn't a darn thing Willis could've done when the Niners offense crapped their pants at the 5 against Baltimore, you cant punish him for not having a ring.

The entire selection process is so political. You have to wait your turn, unless you were deemed good enough to cut the line. Willis was a far better LB than Sam Mills, but Mills has been waiting longer, so he gets priority? Its dumb.
