LOL Clay Matthews over Willis. Yea ok... cause he played longer?

i believe he has a ring, but i thought you had to be 5 years out of the league to be considered into the HOF?

Wasn't Clay with the Rams just 2 seasons ago?

That was Clay Mathews III. This is his father Clay Mathews Jr. who played for the Browns.

I agree though. Willis got shafted this year.
Shocking...
The guy has more All-pro selections that about 90% of guys already in the HOF, changed the MIKE position prototype and paved the way for Wagner, Warner, Bowman, Keuchly, Lavonte David.

Before Pat, Takeo Spikes was your prototypical Mike. Not anymore.

This is purely about time played - which isn't even listed in the considerations. They're supposed to look at quality of player(has it in spades) and impact on the history of the game(again, set a new standard and type for the MIKE position).

If Gale Sayers is in while only playing from 65-71 and only played in 2 games in each of 70 and 71, how in the H-E double hockey sticks is Pat not in?
Kurt Warner only had 4 seasons with 12 or more starts - he's in.
Joe Guyon only played in 49 games but is in because he was the first native american
Dick Stanfel only played in 73 games and he's in as an offensive Guard
Doak Walker only played in 67 games and is in as a RB
Ernie Nevers only played 5 seasons

Pat played in 112 games.
Matt Maiocco needs to step up next year and call attention to the snubbing like he did for T.O. He basically got Owens elected by lecturing the committee and bringing a written statement from Jeff Garcia about Owens' candidacy.
I have 0 doubt he will get in eventually so I'm not stressing

Thats dumb. Pat willis doent need to do s%it to be voted on every. Single. Year. Dumb a%% committee. Lets leave out butkus bacause he only had six quality years. He should be in already and not does not deserve the petty gestures.

If warner retires, should he get a HOF spot ?

Just cause you play well in a short perood of time doesn't make you a first ballot HOFr

Edit: my snub comment was towards TO

Yea His career was cut to short and it has left him forgotten.
WILLIS shoulda been one, but I think retiring early really hurt him..
