He made plenty noise but not long enough

That's ridiculous. Terrell Davis didn't make noise for all that long - he's in. Kurt Warner got benched, then was a backup twice before rising again. Pat was either best in the league or top 2 for 7 straight years.

Before Pat, Takeo Spikes was your prototypical Mike. Not anymore.

This is purely about time played - which isn't even listed in the considerations. They're supposed to look at quality of player(has it in spades) and impact on the history of the game(again, set a new standard and type for the MIKE position).

If Gale Sayers is in while only playing from 65-71 and only played in 2 games in each of 70 and 71, how in the H-E double hockey sticks is Pat not in?
Kurt Warner only had 4 seasons with 12 or more starts - he's in.
Joe Guyon only played in 49 games but is in because he was the first native american
Dick Stanfel only played in 73 games and he's in as an offensive Guard
Doak Walker only played in 67 games and is in as a RB
Ernie Nevers only played 5 seasons

Pat played in 112 games.

So much this.

Ray Lewis is the one who changed the Mike position. Willis was on his way, but quit

Ray Lewis, to me, was the peak of the previous era LB's. When you talkba Mike Singletary, Brian Urlacher prototype, Ray was the peak of that, by a mile. Pat brought speed to thr LB position that had never been seen before and revolutionized the position. There's no Fred Warner or Luke Keuchly without Pat.

This. Some horrible takes guys do better.

Those guys won SBs and MVPs...that holds more value than a couple all pro awards. If Willis would've won a DPOY or SB he would've been in, or played another 4-5 years.

I have to think people are just trolling. No way people are this dumb to think Willis doesn't deserve to be in the HoF

Pat was a beast, but come on. He wasn't a presence a force like Lewis, wagner, Luke, bowman. warner and Pat wasn't at his peak the last 3 years, can debate the last 4.

Or we have too many homers here who dont understand how this works. You had one guy trying to compare Kurt and T Davis, guys who won multiple SBs and MVPS, to Willis.

Love the guy, but hes not on their level.

Comparing the duration in which they played is a fair comparison. Blaming a MLB cause he didn't win a super bowl is just dumb flat out dumb

Matt Maiocco needs to step up next year and call attention to the snubbing like he did for T.O. He basically got Owens elected by lecturing the committee and bringing a written statement from Jeff Garcia about Owens' candidacy.

Problem is, Willis isn't even making the Top 15, which is when those discussions occur.

He was the standard at his position during his era. Why should it matter that Kaepernick couldn't put one in the endzone at the end of the SB? Basing whether Willis is or isn't a HOFer based on that sequence he had no part of is retarded logic. If Crabtree gets that TD Willis magically becomes a HOFer?

He is going to get in eventually, he will just have to wait in line for a while because of the antiquated process they use to elect people. Its just completely idiotic to force a player to slog through 2 additional seasons of being a broken down has-been so he has the acceptable service time to qualify in the voters' eyes. He either was a HOFer, or he wasn't. Willis definitely was.

How many players with 6+ All-Pro selections arent in the Hall?
