I think the chant started with the home opener vs the Lions in 2012. I think it's another f*cking stupid ploy to give fans a sense of belonging. Just like nick names for fan bases.
Our fans understanding when to make noise and when to be quiet would be much nicer. The first down chant ends up getting fans riled up and loud while the 49ers are on offense
every NFL team has their thing..its not stupid at all
It's the stupidest chant in all of organized football.
Says no one

The problem isn't the damn chant. It's the over analyzing of a simple method to bond and unite fans. Whether you guys like it or not this is the 49ers. You can latch onto the past and beg and whine for it to come back. Today's youth are too afraid to look stupid so they refuse to embrace anything new until they see someone, "cool" do it. The culture of the 49ers is gone. The ways of the past will not inspire young people if it doesn't relate to them. This chant could be the beginning of a new culture. It could be the beginning of an actual home field advantage. First you build the modern day culture and instill the same pride and passion than you bring in the relics and solidify that into a tangible thing that people believe in. The Seahawk fans look like idiots, they also sell out for their team. The point is to lose yourself and become part of the crowd. What would you prefer some random relation to gold mining which has nothing to do with football? It's what this generation is good at. Find the flaws in everybody else's ideas while never having a good idea themselves and being to timid to put ideas out there for the fear that it will happen to them.

We don't need artificial help? Really? Have you ever been to a game? Our fans are terrible and provide no homefield advantage whatsoever. We DO need artificial help. Sad but true.
That is sad. I hate gimmicks, though. If it isn't raw emotion it doesn't really work anyway.
Only Candlestick. I haven't been to Levi.
Maybe we should just have complete silence. We will have the first stadium where talking is not allowed. Where everybody just holds up a card that says "Yay"
Can't hold a card, man. People behind you will cry about it. That's what our" fans" do. I've heard of countless instances in which people were told to be quiet and sit down when cheering on the team. It's never happened to me at Candlestick or Levis, but I've heard too many stories for it to be isolated. Our fans suck, unfortunately. Obviously that doesn't mean we all suck, but overall, you get what I'm saying.
we should yell "HADOUKEN!" everytime we get a first down

It's still the most stupidest chant in the history of the game.

Look at the Carolina PA announcer -- just do what he and many others do -- "that's another 49er first down" and play the fog horn or something.
Don't need no stoopid "aroo aroo aroo"

An impactful advantage means be quiet when on offense and yell like a mad man when on defense. There's nothing endearing or the least bit intimidating about the 300 chant.

Yep, I just shake my head in embarrassment when I hear it. Keep the fog horn and kill that stupid chant.

How about...
"HURRY HURRY HURRY HURRY!!!!" If the fans say it, it will at least give Kap a few more seconds so he doesn't have to say it.
