HC-Fangio
DC-Donatell
OC- Chris Ault

I would be so depressed if this happened, I've mostly given up drinking but I'd definitely have to start again with that lineup.

he is becoming my favorite option. He built a hell of a defense and had that offense playing at a good level before schaub starting playing for the other teams by throwing pick 6s every game lol

Not so much a defense, that was his biggest problem for much of his time there but his offenses were always good and he continued the Shanahan tradition of finding a late round/undrafted guy who ended up being a very good RB. His offenses were always top notch and balanced, good running game, good passing game, if he were to leave Fangio alone and let him handle the defense, he could pretty well with the 49ers as he's a great to fix two of the team's biggest weaknesses, pass blocking and playcall execution.

That would be my only worry. I think he is a great coach who would succeed anywhere. But the NFL is much more stressful than college.

Jed York said he's lookin for a coach that wins with class... plz don't hire Jim Mora Jr.!

My first post here. I was simultaneously reading about 49ers and Bruins and I thought I'd chime in. Sorry for the tangent.

The prevailing theory is that Mora was ticked off at:
- Final possession, UCLA in victory formation, KSU has one timeout
- After two kneel-downs, KSU calls timeout instead of letting the clock run out (players already running onto the field)
- Then the last play was this: http://instagram.com/p/xY0Vq-Pt3r/
- Hence, Mora may have been pissed at a bush league play, called after a timeout, that may have risked Hundley's health. Good thing he brought in 2/3 of the starting DL.
- In my opinion, the UCLA coaches either had spidey sense of a trick play or they knew from film/experience that KSU plays hard/dirty.

I guess it's more like Synder is Jim Harbaugh Sr. :)

As for Mora, I'm surprised he's considered a candidate by some.
He definitely has the ties and potential, but I don't think now is the time.
- He seems to genuinely enjoy college - he grew to dislike the NFL win-only culture and wanted to develop/mentor young players
- He's still learning to groom his assistants. He promoted Ulbrich to DC, but there are signs that teacher and student are still both learning. That said, he does mention things he learned from Walsh.

Why!??!?!!?! His offenses did nothing for the Texans.

4 top 10 offenses while he was coaching there. 3 Top 10 rushing offenses, 3 Top 10 Passing Offenses.

It's just my own opinion but I don't think he will. I think Shanahan will be named coach soon.

#49ers CEO Jed York told one source that Mike Shanahan was "high" on his list of candidates. FWIW.

Last I checked he had more SB rings than any of the interviewers.

That's what I'm talking about. Shanny as HC and Kyle as OC, to be groomed as future HC. Make it happen Jed.

Yeah and he took a bottom ten (Yds & Scoring) Baltimore team and made them #12 in Yds and #8 in scoring.

Flacco is having one of his best years in QB rating & QBR... Kubiak has a great track record with offense...

hopefully this isnt a whole post-mooch thing again. the relationship between Jed and Jim must have been really bad to part ways after such a successful coaching campaign but Jim was never going to fire Roman

He may not have been but I was willing to give it another season to see if they tried to fix anything. If he fails two years in a row then fine cut him, but it was one bad season. Like it has been said before suits are easy to find good coaches are not.

Our options are crap right now. The seasoned coaches who have proven themselves in the past haven't done anything positive in the last decade. The younger guys are hidden behind QB's like Payton Manning, or destroyed one QB after another in Rex Ryan (seriously)!!! McDaniels maybe ok but I don't see anything special about him one bit! Shanahan took RG3 and found a way to put him in a hospital every game. Then there are college coaches which are a toss up like Jim was. But Jim was a very well known NFL prospect, I don't see any teams clamoring for those other guys.

I would have let Harbaugh coach out the last year on his contract to see if he would make the proper adjustments. But let's not kid ourselves, our struggles offensively didn't start this year. It wasn't good last year, I was expecting improvement in the offseason and boy was I wrong because we only regressed and got much worse offensively this season. If Harbs wouldn't replace Roman and many of his buddies on the offensive coaching staff (and we all know he wouldn't), it's hard for me to believe things would be much different next year.
