West coast. Doesn't run enough though

Very intrigued by the best of both worlds... Kubiak HC (brings in zone blocking, handles OL, handles running game), Trestman as OC is better with the passing game. Keep the D staff.

I think if we get Kubiak it's all but certain that Rick Dennison will come along as his OC.

Interesting combination though, Trestman and Kubiak....
Kubiak > Shannahan

I understand the Niners had a 4 1/2 hr interview with Mike Shanahan...Jed said he wanted to hire a head coach who was a teacher...that pretty well describes MS. IF he was selected to be the next head coach, I wonder if he'd want to bring his son, Kyle in to be OC. I think that coaching tandem could be an interesting combination that might be able to resurrect our offense.

mike is my second option right now but f**k no to kyle

If Kubiak was Shanny's OC I'd agree.

Since Elway has retired Shannahan has ONE playoff win in 13 seasons.

And the Texans were never considered serious playoff threats. Their offenses were from mediocre to pedestrian.

4 top 10 offenses & 3 top 5 offenses in Houston. So to you a top 5/10 offense is mediocre? Got ya...

1. Matt Schaub
2. Arian Foster
3. Andre Johnson

Yep. In fact this dynamic offense you speak of was so good, Andre Johnson was trying to get traded because he knew they weren't going anywhere lol.

Last I checked he had more SB rings than any of the interviewers.

Ya but football has evolved a great deal since those days. I don't believe he can recreate those successes in this league, just like he hasn't even come close in Washington.

He interviewed at Washington. If he couldn't get out of his contract I'm sure he wouldn't have wasted his time.

Edit: Going to interview.

Neither. The request was blocked by the 49ers. Unless someone hires him as a HC, Fangio can't go to any other NFL team without the permission of the 49ers, in one form or another.

Not likely to stay if he doesn't get the HC job.

Where is he gonna go? He is under contract if he dont get a head coaching offer he cant lateral as a dc. He can quit and set at home or coach college until his contract expires.

Denied the opportinity to interview by SF.

Yeah, but I wont be surprised if it's temporary if he isn't given the HC position.

He tried to get traded when the new coach took over

Why would it be? Nobody owes Fangio anything. He'd be far from the first assistant to get passed up for a coach coming from the organization.

Arian Foster was undrafted, Schaub was a so-so backup with the Falcons, putting together a top offense with those two guys is pretty impressive. Just like Shanahan, Kubiak manages to have top-performing RB's wherever he goes.

So you think kubiak was the brains behind mike's offense? Personally, I think Mike is an all timer, and his personnel skills let him down.

As I said, I love them both.

He also took over a Redskins team that had not played in a playoff game since 1999. The fact that he took that poorly ran team and even made them a playoff contender once is a testament to his coaching prowess. I believe he would have done more if Dan Snyder didn't step on his toes and throw away the future for his poster boy RGlll.

Quit whinning.

and were not a rebuild, the players are all there. we just need someone with any kind of idea on how to use our offense to its full potential. having roman as an OC was like giving the keys to a lambo to a 90 year old lady

yea N Romn is still our OC to this day ..... why aint that lop gone same day as Harbaugh !!!!

That's up to the new head coach to decide what to do with him. The Ed Debartolo "HE'S GONE" moment might be satisfying but it probably doesn't look good to future employees of the franchise.
