Pass on Fangio. Good DC's are much easier to find than good offensive minded head coaches. I like Fangio and he did a lot of good things here, but I think a lot of it has been the talent on the team and the great position coaches (donatell, tomsula, levitt).
We can and should do better than Vic as our Head Coach. Just because he was a good DC here doesn't mean he will make a good head coach. Of course the players here like him. People like things that are familiar.
Would rather have Rex Ryan or Bowles than Vic. Don't think he has the personality of a HC. With that being said, I prefer Kubiak, Gase, or Shanahan in that order.

Yep. In fact this dynamic offense you speak of was so good, Andre Johnson was trying to get traded because he knew they weren't going anywhere lol.
Johnson didn't start asking for a trade until after Kubiak was fired. Also, if you look at his career, much like Shanahan seems to be make a great running back out of anybody; just ask Justin Forsett. Over 1200 rushing yards this season and he didn't become the starter until around week six.
Just imagine what Kubiak could with Gore and Hyde.

Last I checked he had more SB rings than any of the interviewers.
Ya but football has evolved a great deal since those days. I don't believe he can recreate those successes in this league, just like he hasn't even come close in Washington.
He made RG3 look real good util he got hurt imagine him with Kap

Yeah, but I wont be surprised if it's temporary if he isn't given the HC position.
Why would it be? Nobody owes Fangio anything. He'd be far from the first assistant to get passed up for a coach coming from the organization.
It could depend on how much of a stink he puts up over it. If they feel it could affect the upcoming season they may figure it would be less of a headache to let him go and promote Donatell.

Quit whinning.
and were not a rebuild, the players are all there. we just need someone with any kind of idea on how to use our offense to its full potential. having roman as an OC was like giving the keys to a lambo to a 90 year old lady
yea N Romn is still our OC to this day ..... why aint that lop gone same day as Harbaugh !!!!
this front office is retarded for firing harbaugh in the first place, does it really surprise you? he will be gone soon enough. theyre just being politically correct saying itll be the next HC's choice to keep the assistants or not

Or he could be happy as a lark to coach a top D and finally have an offense that can produce the next dynasty.

Which I'd be alright with. Fangio was average to mediocre as a DC before coming to the 49ers. If he has that much of an issue with what is a pretty common practice, then he needs to go elsewhere.
However I don't think that is what would happen. Fangio's been fired enough times and been on enough bad teams that I'm sure he knows he has a good thing and throwing a huge hissy fit over not being made coach doesn't seem like its his style, especially to go somewhere like Washington with a talent starved team so you can get fired in a year all while having the same position he had with the 49ers.

So you think kubiak was the brains behind mike's offense? Personally, I think Mike is an all timer, and his personnel skills let him down.
As I said, I love them both.
Mike was a good coach but he been living off those Superbowl wins for a long time.

I think if we get Kubiak it's all but certain that Rick Dennison will come along as his OC.
Interesting combination though, Trestman and Kubiak....
That would work too. They were 9th, 8th, 10th under him in points. I don't know if we can count 2013 when they were 31st. The year Schaub fell apart. Either way Dennison could still coach the OL, bring in the blocking scheme. They can still use play action and pass. Also, wonder if Andre Johnson would ask for a trade and take a big paycut to come over here or were he and Kubiak/Dennison not close? He is a pretty loyal guy though might not.
I had Kubiak as my #4 under Gase, Fangio (with good oc), Ryan (with good oc) but I said I could easily flop those and put him 3rd. I could easily go with Gase 1, Kubiak with Trestman/Dennison 2, Fangio or Ryan with good OC 3/4. I just worry about Ryan or Fangio getting an average or bad OC and were in the same spot a few years from now.

I think he's another example of good head coach, bad GM.

That's up to the new head coach to decide what to do with him. The Ed Debartolo "HE'S GONE" moment might be satisfying but it probably doesn't look good to future employees of the franchise.
sound like BS to me if Jed had enough ballz to fire Harbaugh he should have fired tha real problem N thatz Roman !!!!!!
