1. Vic Fangio HC

2. Mike Shanny OC

Wouldn't suck

You really think Shanahan would take an OC position?

You know the ego on that guy?

Keep dreaming.

Looks like the Shannahan father/son move i speculated about prior to the season ending is gaining some momentum.

I also wouldn't be upset with Kubiak.

Everyone else whos names are being thrown about wouldnt really get me excited. Of all the other names, i would probably prefer the in house hire of Vic Fangio.

If Cleveland releases Kyle Shanahan why in the world would we want him as our OC??????? If they want him out that means he is a problem.

Am I missing something....Kyle didn't get fired in CLE, right? I thought they were really happy with him.

Actually Brown fans want him out

You have voiced your opinion about Kyle to me before. Its well documented. I understand you dont like him, and your evidence was a single article from 2-3 years ago. Its fine he wouldnt be your choice, but lets not pretend that Kyle is not a bright young up and coming coach in the NFL and WILL get a HC shot sooner rather than later.

Maybe the fans do. But what fans don't want their OC out. Think the organization is happy with what he did with Hoyer and their running game. Without Gordon and Cameron for much of the season.

Wouldnt be my first choice. BUT, i would take him over Rex Ryan, Quinn, Bowles, etc.

IMO right now Fangio is likely their fallback option if they cant secure one of the bigger names on the market. Same with all the interview with defensive minded coaches.

I think the thought is, that if they cant land an offensive minded coach that shares their vision (Shanahan, Kubiak) that the fallback should be a Defensive minded coach that can get the most out of the defense until the Offense catches up.

Personally i would not want any Defensive minded coach as my HC regardless. I just think if they go that route, Fangio would be the best option.

Idk if i would. He has done a great job as DC for us, but we are super talented on D and he has not been a good defensive coordinator outside of SF. Seems like a decent coordinator who is looking good with a staked D. There is a reason at age 52 he took a college coordinator job and it wasn't because he was in to high of demand in the NFL. Get the best guy, keeping continuity is OVERRATED.

Agreed. Heres what I said earlier in this thread:

Pass on Fangio. Good DC's are much easier to find than good offensive minded head coaches. I like Fangio and he did a lot of good things here, but I think a lot of it has been the talent on the team and the great position coaches (donatell, tomsula, levitt). We can and should do better than Vic as our Head Coach. Just because he was a good DC here doesn't mean he will make a good head coach. Of course the players here like him. People like things that are familiar. Would rather have Rex Ryan or Bowles than Vic. Don't think he has the personality of a HC. With that being said, I prefer Kubiak, Gase, or Shanahan in that order. No he seems to be fine in Cleveland. But people keep saying if Mike Shanahan gets the 49ers job Kyle would be the OC. Well the only way he would be is if Cleveland lets him go and the only way they do that is it he is a problem.

LOL. No they don't. And if some do they are the vocal minority. Kyle had a good amount of success with that offense. No one can really say it wouldn't have been a trainwreck with another OC.

Here is an article from earlier in the season. There were lots like it. People that have any issue with Kyle in Cleveland have wayyyy too high of an opinion of Johney Football.

I could get you a bunch more but no real point in that. Kyle wont be on the 49ers staff.

Here what i could see happening, and i mentioned it months back. Kyle as HC, Mike in an assistant HC role. People say it will never happen, but i personally could see something like that happening. Mike gets all the input he wants, but doesn't really have to carry the stess as HC. Kyle gets the opportunity to Grow as the HC and still has experience at his side with his father.

How much money is this FO willing to throw out for the coaching staff lol? Mike wants to be a HC and he has stated that...you honestly think he would want to take orders from his son? Shanny likes power and he won't be getting it here.

I like Kyle and he might get a shot sooner or later as a HC, but as of now they haven't asked to interview him.
